okay, I have really bad sore throat. It hurts to talk and it hurts to drink stuff. I know it's late at night but I'm having trouble sleeping and my throat is really hurting me. I missed work twice this week. Monday, I called in sick. Tuesday, I go to work and they send me home because I am still sick.

What can I do to make myself feel better? My throat hurts really badly.

First off, I'd go to a doctor and have them check you for strep throat. Besides that, just drink a lot of juices and avoid anything that really aggravates it.

I find drinking a lot of wine helps my throat not hurt. I guess the alcohol helps kill some of the bacteria or something? *shrugs*

once I had a horrible soar throat where I couldn't eat or sleep for days, everytime I coughed it was so painful. I used this menthol spray and ice, but theres really not much you can do about it in the end.

Get some over-the-counter medicine (cough drops, cough syrup, cough spray, etc.), use them, and wait it out. If it's more serious than that, see a doctor. Hope you get well soon.

Drink some lemon juice or anything that is sour. If it gets worst, go to a doctor.

Get a doctor's appointment, get them to see if it is anything that is treatable with antibiotics [like strep throat], then just sleep the day away. Bed rest is the best medicine. No drug can give you what bed rest does.

Well if it hurts as bad as you are saying, then you should go see a doctor. Otherwise, gargle warm salt water twice a day. The salt will help kill any bacteria lingering in your throat. Also hot tea with some honey and or lemon will also help to soothe your throat. The last thing I can recommend is to just try and not use your throat. Don't talk or do anything else. Just relax and take it easy.

one time i had a harsh soar throat... and i was partying... i drank a whole bunch of jim beam and smoked a little of the green stuff.. and bam! it was gone the next day.. now before you anti drug people get on my case im not telling anyone to go out and buy a 8th and get backed an laugh all night.. i mean how much fun coudl that be....
