If Obama loses, it is going to be because of overconfidence. Heck, look what happened to Hillary.

Pretty obvious who will win, you don't need to be a historian.. just look at the line up of presidents.. republican, dem, rep, dem.. country can only handle so much of one side before switching to the other

I was going to ask "what do they know?", but if that guy's forecasting model has correctly predicted the winner of the popular vote in the past six elections (and I mean before the election occurred; it's rather easier to do fit a model to existing data after the fact), maybe he knows what he's talking about. :P

McCain will win. Obama will take the West coast, New England (Minus New Hampshire), Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Hawaii, and DC. Perhaps Colorado, Nevada, and/or New Mexico. McCain will take every other state. I guarantee it.

You do realize that if Obama wins every state that you just mentioned, he'll win the electoral college, right? Even without NH.

Agreed, my family is in the 45% tax bracket.

Please dont make me dig up the quotes in Obamas book. Basically he says he rejects being part white and has a hatred for his mothers race(white).

Nice to know non Americans actually realize the danger of Obama to, not only America, but the world.

My dad is currently tring to sell all his stocks. If Obama wins he will raise the Capital Gain tax resulting in us losing hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not millions. Obama hates the rich so he can get votes form the poor.

He doesn't hate the rich. He is just trying to make it fair.

Why do the rich get the tax cuts? It's not fair. Those tax cuts should go to the poor.

The quotes below are from Obama's book, "Dreams of My Father";
Although Obama spent various portions of his youth living with his white maternal grandfather and Indonesian stepfather, he vowed that he would "never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa, that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela."

This is from "Audacity of Hope";
"There were enough of us on campus to constitute a tribe, and when it came to hanging out many of us chose to function like a tribe, staying close together, traveling in packs," he wrote. "It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names."

From "Dreams";
"The emotion between the races could never be pure," "Even love was tarnished by the desire to find in the other some element that was missing in ourselves. Whether we sought out our demons or salvation, the other race would always remain just that: menacing, alien, and apart."

"There was something about him that made me wary," Obama wrote. "A little too sure of himself, maybe. And white"

If McCain is able to paint Obama as a far left liberal (which shouldn't be hard, since he is), and is able to portray himself as a moderate republican, he'll win. If Obama can sell the AARP on his healthcare plan, then it may be a different story.

This is obviously a manifesto of his beliefs. I mean, it couldn't be accounts from earlier in life when racial tension existed in society. Of course not. Educate yourselves: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_rights_movement

And these are all recollections from his youth. So yeah, they look bad out of content, but none of that seems to represent he current beliefs.

In a reflective novel about growing up as a black kid in the late '60s and '70s? You're right. It was all sunshine and roses for black people back then:roll:

Your right, that make it ok to be racist. :roll: I agree the way they were treated was horrible, but they need to forget the past and get over it. Should I hate the North for killing one of my ancestors? No, its irrational.

You're citing a reflective novel about his childhood and early life. He's not giving speeches today about how much he hates the white man. He's describing a time in his life when racial tension existed. I would say from all evidence that he has gotten over it. Or are people not allowed to recall their childhood feelings without it being misconstrued as representing the beliefs they currently hold. Bad argument.

ten bucks says McCain still wins. I'm betting we get a repeat of 2000, where Obama will get the popular but McCain will win the Electoral.

Rikusaki

$300 says Obama will win.

400 bucks says McCain wins, and 500 bucks say's you're on Obama's Payroll. Perhaps...his campaign manager?!

lol no, I just said 300 because that is how much I have donated to his campaign.

1,000 Hypothetical Internet dollars says Nader pwns them both.

Since the majority of the U.S. makes poor to decent living, Obama will win. Anyone medium-upper totally gets screwed when Democrats take office.

He doesn't hate the rich. He is just trying to make it fair.

Why do the rich get the tax cuts? It's not fair. Those tax cuts should go to the poor.

Why? My father worked his *** off for those tax cuts.

History isn't on McCain's side, unfortunately. But this election has the unique curveball of having both a minority candidate and a really old but very well respected one. This election might be in a class all its own. It'll be one to tell the grandkids about.

Yeah, there was a real shortage of rich people when Clinton was in office. :roll:

No offense to the work of your father, but those tax cuts didn't exist before Bush took office. Now the economy is a mess and the deficit is through the roof.
