What I mean is that a simulation, at least an ordinary one, involves only optical information and audio (sound) information. But what you are talking about is more than just optical and audio information.
Also how can liquids, solids and gases be a digital simulation? I mean is a rock a simulation or a liquid like water also a simulation?
Is the moon a simulation or an asteroid floating in space?
We definitely live in a world of mystery but saying reality is a simulation could be over-simplifying what is really going on.
Are you here in name of the group of scientists who think they can somehow show us whether reality is a simulation or not? Because while they may find out that it is a simulation it is impossible for them to find out that it is not.
I have also wondered why people call green grapes white grapes. I wonder all kinds of stuff.
And while the Matrix argument is not totally improbable. There are theories that achieve the same results with far less assumptions.

Are you sure? "Custom or habit determines the mind to suppose the future conformable to the past," (Hume). But if this background of experienced constant conjunctions was all that was involved (in other words the effect follows a supposed cause), then our reasonings would be merely hypothetical.

What is reality, really? How do we know that there is a world outside from what we sense and percieve. Are we even experiencing the whole of reality or only what our mind and it's limited capacity can make sense of. It's an interesting debate that my philosophy minor had no answer to. Only more questions.

I'm guessing people are misreading the title. It's "Have you ever WONDERED if reality is a simulation?". It's not "Do you think Reality is a simulation?".

everything that occurs naturally is a simulation. everything that is artificial depends on whether it comes from a simulated human or not. It sounds to me like you need to put a bit more thought into what you're trying to say. everything that is artificial may or may not be a product of simulated or non-simulated humans or both. its all simulation within simulation.

if for some reason the simulation turns off, then all the simulated humans would disappear but the artificial products and the non-simulated humans would find them in a totally different place.
