I saw it last night. It was good... but it was too short and didn't feel like a "complete" movie, especially in regards to the first 5.
No. I grew out of the series shortly after the fifth book was published.

No, I genuinely lost interest. There was no one decision I made, I just drifted away from it, really. I'm not quite sure why this happened, but by the time thesixth book was published I realised I had no desire to read it
In fact, the vast majority of people at my school were still reading the books up until the last one.
No, I have no intention of ever seeing any more Harry Potter movies (I stopped after 3, given the novels just went downhill after 3).chessmaster1989
I was going to say "you're crazy", but 'different strokes..." I guess.
To me, the story didn't get good UNTIL #3 and each book after got better and better (except #5).
not at all. i watched the first half of the very first one hated it i had to stop watching it, my parents actually liked the first and second one i can not stand looking at a hideous nerd thats a 'wizard' i'm not even going to get started on twilight! i will never ever watch those movies EVERamazinglyHXC
Well, of course how you see him is just "how you see him", but in the context of the story Harry is not a nerd. Not by the typically accepted definition. Nerds are supposed to be social misfits. Harry is popular. Harry gets into trouble. Harry is not book smart. Harry is the captain of the team. Harry ends up with the most popular girl.

My friend told me today that the movie was bad while my sister loved it. I will watch it this weekend to see who is telling the truth. :x

Your friend is right. Your sister obviously just liked the love story elements in the film.

It wasn't sexist. Which gender usually goes gaga over love stories? The answer is: females. Movie wasn't bad by any means. It didn't feel like a Harry Potter movie to me and just left important plot points out and put in a stupid scene when they could have filled the plot more. Again 7/10

Of course it was sexist. He assumed the sister liked it for the love story which was assumption.[QUOTE="drufeous"]

Steretype.....
A too-simple and therefore distorted image of a group,
Sexism....
Attitudes, conditions, or behaviors that promote stereotyping of social roles based on gender.
I think it's both.;)

Guess it could be both. More of a stereotype in my opinion though.

Well that's a novel definition to me. Source? NB: Yeah, I know I'm being pedantic, but OT has really lets its standards slip in the last few weeks -- and I need some form of debate. :PWell that's a novel definition to me. Source? Except he added his little twist to the definition. Besides, has nothing to do with the close to disaster the HBP turned out to be in theaters.

I pretty much agree with you on the film.
As for the love story stuff, I kinda laughed. People in the theater applauded at key "love story" moments. I won't mention the main two and spoil it for anyone, but you probably know the two I mean. There was also a lot of crying around me.

LOL. I can't believe you two are dissecting my words. OK, I admit it! I was wrong!
The biggest assumption I made (or at least the first)was that when he said "sister", I pictured a pre-teen. She could have been older.

I've never heard the term "well-written" used to describe Harry Potter. :|
I personally didn't "grow out" of Harry Potter, I just thought the series went considerably downhill, which is a problem when the best of the series is (imo) good, at best. Nothing in that series struck me as great.
