I am currently watching "When We Left Earth" and i find it enthralling. I just like learning stuff that i didn't know so really any subject matter will work. The only thing i try to stray from are War related pieces and such. Wife was watching "The Nazis" not long ago and i found it oppressively bleak and could not watch it.

I have already had "Exit Through the Gift Shop" suggested by a friend which i plan to catch after i finish the stuff i am on. Just anything informative, enlightening or educational will work.

Thanks in advance.

This is a good documentary. It's about a group of young, African, males known as the "lost boy's", and their journey from a refugee camp in Africa to the U.S.. I highly recommend it.

Why would I make them up to start trouble in this thread :? ? Its a PBS documentary and is actually some good stuff. Watch one and be educated on the African influences in Latin America.

Oh yes, I enjoy documentaries quite a bit. I'll try not to mention anything overtly political here though...

This Film is Not Yet Rated: Very interesting film about how the MPAA really works.

Wisconsin Death Trip: Account of a seeming wave of mass insanity that swept through a small Wisconsin town in the 19th century. Narrated by Ian Holm!

Darwin's Nightmare: Extremely depressing film about the fishermen of Lake Victoria in Tanzania.

Night and Fog: The best Holocaust documentary I've ever seen.

I really must get around to grabbing that - Planet Earth was great and I've heard Life is perhaps a marginal improvement.

I would receommend some Louis Theroux - some of his back catologue is only relevent if you're from thew UK (e.g. Luis meets Jimmy Saville), but some really interesting ones out there - swingers, brothels, Ice, etc. He's a good bloke is Louis - very disarming.

That seen with the Killer Whales mugging that young grey whale (I think) was awful - I can't re-watch that at all. In fact I read an interview with one of the camera crew talking about how terrible and moving it was, going on for hours and hours. Poor little fella...

I have only seen 2 episodes so far, I bought it on DVD, but I have been ill earlier and busy with exams so haven't seen past that.

The episode of "life" with the reptiles was quite bad, with the komodo dragons. They bit and poisoned a group of water buffallo and then stalked them for weeks until they died of the poision. That was a pretty horrible scene.

I just saw Restrepo, damn good film.

Blood into Wine is good if youre a fan of Maynard (from Tool, A Perfect Circle, Pucifer)

*Oh but my favorite is problably this one where they interview this guy who was the Sec of Defense or War or something during Vietnam. The name escapes me, but the guy was so brilliant and fascinating to listen to.

**Found it! Fog of War Simply brilliant, if I taught US history I'd have my ****watch it and get tested on it

I like the Universe series, they've all the seasons on Netflix if you have it... if you have Netflix there should be lots of documentaries to watch Gasland was on HBO On-Demand but I don't think it's around anymore, that was a good one Michael Moore's Roger & Me is my favorite of his documentaries, followed by Sicko
