[QUOTE="xTheExploited"]I don't know, do metalcore and deathcore bands count as metal?St_JimmyX
I don't but it shouldn't really matter.
Shouldn't really matter... SHOULDN'T REALLY MATTER!! But we must abide by the rules of the thread! If I posted non-metal bands in a metal thread things would erupt into chaos and anarchy.[QUOTE="St_JimmyX"][QUOTE="xTheExploited"]I don't know, do metalcore and deathcore bands count as metal?xTheExploited

Expand on what you mean by 'not really metal'. Just because you don't like them, it doesn't mean they aren't metal.

Your doing it wrong... You should listen to it, not see it.^lol
Nu-metal is a fusion genre of grunge (and arguably alternative hardcore) with metal. Nu-metal itself is not an original branch of metal. MOST people disregard it all together, though there are a few bands that are more metal than nu...

Acid Bath, Agalloch, Bathory, Bison BC, Black Sabbath, Evile, Gojira, High on Fire, Indricothere, Job for a Cowboy, Kreator, Kylesa, Kyuss, Lamb of God. Machine Head, Mastodon, Megadeth, Meshuggah, Metallica, Morbid Saint, Pantera, Rammstein, Razormaze, Slayer, The Sword, Tool. I expect to get some flak from some users here due to including Job for a Cowboy ("not metal, crap", etc; I suggest listening to Ruination - sounds like Death Metal enough - or don't, I couldn't care less) and Lamb of God/Pantera ("white trash groove metal lolz").Neon-Tiger
Actually, basically take this list and you have many bands I like...I tend to like metal and all genres it encompasses. :P
Acid Bath, Amon Amarth, Anthrax, Children Of Bodom, Dethklok, Gamma Ray, Iron Maiden, Manowar, Megadeth, Metallica, and Pantera.
Those are the ones I thought from the top of my head.
Suffocation and Nevermore.Darth-CaedusSurprise to see a Suffocation fan here, it was the first death metal band I liked. As for me, I'll say (old) Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Testament, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Saxon, Pantera, Machine Head, (old) Korn, (old) Slipknot, Mudvayne, Drowning Pool(1st album), Rage Against The Machine, (older) Static X, (old) In Flames, Fear Factory, Angra, Green Carnation, Nevermore, Symphony X, and many others...
(old) Slipknot,ArmoredCore55
What's with people only liking the old slipknot? Their new stuff was much better imo.

I like them anyway. But they were better live during Self Tilted /IOWA imo^Needs moar Bolt Thrower :xchessmaster1989What, are they like your favorite band now or something?:P They probably would have made it a little while ago, but I only have two of their albums ATM, and I'm a little burnt out on those right now so...:P [QUOTE="ArmoredCore55"] Surprise to see a Suffocation fan here, it was the first death metal band I liked. Fantastic band. Easily one of the best American DM bands.
Dope stars incdissonantblackI tried them out the other day, they were tagged at lastfm as similar to Deathstars. I didn't quite like them that much though.

Let's just say they have yet to make their appearance on my top 10 list. :P
I've been hooked on The IVth Crusade of late. Where Next To Conquer is so full of win. :D
Yeah, they're a amazing band. Mike Smith created that blast beat.[QUOTE="ArmoredCore55"] I don't know, I know people around me prefer the old Slipknot and not the new Slipknot, and it sounds more heavier than their new stuff.[QUOTE="Darth-Caedus"]Fantastic band. Owl City is a Synthpop project...
Uhoh....so good can't take a joke gotta be serious......derogatory use of not taking a joke
The way you said it makes a little hard for it to be a joke.
And many or some people cant really tell or know their genres at times. Add some sarcasm next time.
