I guess your right, long day has lead me to jump to conclusions about the /thread. Still my favorite though, if not because of his drumming ability, but because of his all around... I don't know how to describe it. He seems really deep and reserved.

Inferno is def. amazing. Danny Carey from Tool is always gonna be my favourite, just because his style is pretty much impossible to imitate. I also love Nicko McBrain from Iron Maiden, John Boecklin from DevilDriver (criminally underrated), Aaron Weaver of Wolves in the Throne Room (some of my favourite blast beats), and Paul Bostaph currently in Testament (I like him better than Lambardo, sue me)

You know what? I really respect Jordison. In my early years of metal/drumming I really looked up to him. He's probably the only member of Slipknot who actually has a good amount of talent. He's pretty fast, and some of his solos are great

Not to mention he's probably the only drummer that plays his drum solos upside down.

Megadeth's current drummer is pretty kickass too man, plus he's Canadian:D I haven't listened to enough Megadeth to compare him to their old drummer at all though, I just saw them at Gigantour last year and he was really good

sean reinert. if you insist on hearing a solo (though his strength is really his diversity and relationships with the other instruments), then here.

[QUOTE="k16campbell"] I haven't heard enough Rush to really say this with meaning, but I haven't heard anything from him that makes him so amazing. The fact he has a rotating drumset is pretty sick though.

My favorite is Brian Viglione from the Dresden Dolls. He's not the fastest, probably not the most skilled either, but still, there's some subtlety in his drum work I haven't seen anywhere else.

The joys of opinions huh. Anyways I notice bass players much more than drummers. A great bass player can make a band IMO.

Keith Moon is easily the most interesting to watch, though.

I would say it's John Bohnam from Led Zeppelin, Keith Moon from The Who, Dave Lombardo from Slayer, Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater, Alex Vanhalen from Van Halen and Vinnie Paul from Pantera. No particular order
