Even though they aren't the very best books out there these are the very first fantasy books I have ever read and the ones that got me into reading the genre, which ended up being my favourite escape from reality as a child and teenager (and still is, every now and then)

Love the covers, seems to be the same artist who worked on the goldbox games.

@uninspiredcup: They changed several times throughout the years but I still think the classic covers are the best.

Some of the more recent ones:

Mein Kampf

Zweites Buch

Excellent books to read. I recommend everyone give them a shot regardless of what you think of the Author. They are quite interesting.

Dune by Frank Herbert (the whole series is great by Frank Herbert, and then his son took over and, well, his are entertaining but no good).

Shogun by James Clavell

If comics count, anything Calvin and Hobbes.

Hard to pick one, but The Screwtape Letters, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, American Gods, and Dune are all up there.

In my whole life I've only read 25 books total. My favorite one that I've read is Mountain of Madness by HP Lovecraft.
