The last 3 year I believe, it would only be me and my two uncles that would sit at the table. Every year my uncle prepares the food and we as a family would sit around the table while I laugh non-stop by loud chewing and "smacking" by my uncles eating, but the past 3 years everyone else like my aunt, grandma, sister, mom, ect, wouldnt participate anymore by not coming to the table. Instead they take a plate and leave. Anyone else doesnt sit at the table anymore?
Then again, we don't eat as a family anymore, barely even on holidays.
My parents don't usually get home until after dinner is ready. My half-brother doesn't come home from school either. And usually I just fix dinner for me and my grandmaÂ
For Thanksgiving when we go to my Grandma's we all sit around the table, but during the rest of the year we just get our plates and sit in the living room watching Jeopardy.
On Christmas my whole family goes to my nans house and yes we eat at the table. On a normal day i eat my dinner up the table but my mum and dad take their plates to the sofa as the table is quite small but we do all eat at the same time :)

The room is for sleeping and maybe some studying :x I dunno, I almost never ever ever ate in my room. Most have tvs and computers, along with their game consoles in the room. Not to mention the nice relaxing bed...
We only get the table out at Christmas, and even then they put the kids at the table and sit in the living room. 11-12 people wont fit around it anyway, but what pisses me off is that I get roped in with the kids at the table who talk with their mouths full and spill lemonade everywhere and ask **** questions. I'm 19 for Christs sake, I shouldn't be subjected to that ****.
I would rather sit on the living room floor tbh. Then again the whole Christianity/table thing isn't as big in this country, so we don't even say prayers or anything. The table is just there for when there are too many people.Â

we dont usually eat at the table unless there is a special occasion and we eating as a family. really we dont even have meal time in my house. my mom cooks and just leaves the food for us to help ourselves for the most part.
No only during Chinese New Years since my mom makes everyone do it... Other holidays we have a party and I usually eat in front of the tv or in my room.

Same with my family. Only for holidays though. Its just me, Mom, Dad, and Brothers. My family became very independent recently.....

Weird. I usually only watch tv while I'm eating. I don't watch tv much while just sitting around... it's kind of boring.
My dad loves having good old sit down meals every night. My mom and I don't really get into it as much, but we do it most of the nights out of the week anyway. We always sit at the tables during holidays and special occasions and whatnot.
The last time we sat together as a family for dinner was Thanksgiving (Canadian thanksgiving) Besides special occasions, everybody has their meals at different times.
