I don't mind it. Lettuce, tomatoes and pickles on my burger is no problem. When I go subway, I have all the vegetables, except for olives. Personally, vegetables adds flavour to my meal and it's healthy.

I know people are very picky when they eat fast food. I remember my ex-colleague hated veggies on his burger and he always took them out.

What about you?

No fan of pickles or tomatoes. Otherwise most are OK and imo adds to the flavour.

Most of the time yes. But it depends on the vegetable. I don't eat tomatoes (unless roasted), cucumbers and olives so I will remove them from my meal if served.

Eating fruits and vegetables is part of my every day diet. Picky eaters are weird.

Meals without vegetables is pointless in my opinion.

In fact I've been trying to cut meat and starches down significantly. Bulk of my plate is vegetable. About 1/4 protein, 1/4 starch, 1/2 vegetable.

As for whether or not you're asking me like, vegetables incorporated into my meal, of course. A bahn mi with only the meat and bread is not a bahn mi. A delicious Italian cold cut grinder without the lettuce, tomato, onion, and roasted peppers is a bland affair. Even your basic hot dog is made greater with the addition of kraut, relish, and onions.

Gotta have vegetables man! It's not just a health stance or ethics thing (though those are both excellent reasons to favor vegetables!), it's a flavor thing too!

They really, really are.

I mean, first off, fruits and vegetables are amazing. Not trying to "one of those" types of people, but I'd honestly rather have some nice ripe berries instead of a candy bar. I mean, candy is good too, but you just feel like shit after it.

I mean everyone is allowed (yes, allowed. I am the authority here, remember that 😁 ) some things they don't like. I hate that Japanese sauce they put on katsu, for example. But people who stick to just a few things and are routine about it are, imo, very immature.

You can't just eat cheese quesadillas, chocolate milk, baby carrots, and peanut butter and crackers your whole life. You know who does that? My six year old nephew, and my sister and bro-in-law are about to start sending him to his room without dinner if he doesn't change his ways!

Of course I love my veggies on the side of my meals but it really depends on the vegetables as I only eat limited veggies.

For those who say Tomatos. You do know Tomatoes aren't vegetables right? Tomatoes are fruits and always have been.

@omegamaster: @horgen: I hate to tell you guys this but Tomatoes aren't vegetables. They're actually fruits cause they have seeds inside of them thus they belong in the fruit group.

Those are fruits. I'm assuming "pickles" are pickled cucumber. But yeah, I like onions on my steak.

Yes, things like green beans, carrots, or potatoes make a great side. I like tomatoes on burgers/sandwiches sometimes and a little onion or cucumber(no pickle, though).

Corn makes a great side, too, but it’s more of a grain, IMO.

@omegamaster: Haha. I've done some research and it seems Tomatoes can be both vegetable & fruit at the same time. Just been so used to them being a fruit than a vegetable group.

Yep, always like some fruits and vegetables with my meals. Have a pretty wide variety of ones that I like as well. Not many that I don’t care for really.

Yeah I find they enhance the flavour and texture of any meal or food. I also drink a lot of veggie juices or blend them into my smoothies for more nutrients.

Honestly I can't imagine not having vegetables with every meal.

In fact the bulk of my diet is vegetables. I aim for about 80 g of protein each day, so as long as I have room for that in my stomach, the rest of the room is for veggies.

One of my favorite quotes (I don't know who said it) is "intelligence is knowing a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad".

While I am sure many fine chefs would accept that challenge and could indeed make a tasty fruit salad with tomatoes, I think you get the gist of it haha.

I am betting that all those people that don't eat vegetables are below 30 or 35.

There is an age range in which you can eat unhealthy and get away with it.

I am vegan.

I LOVE stuffing myself with vegetables, whole grains, fruits, nuts, seeds, and legumes. In fact, my meals are around 70-80% whole foods. Which translates to, veggies.

And the amount of vegetables in my food keeps going up as I keep getting better at cooking.

Edit: Whether we consider tomatoes a fruit or not really depends on the context. Botanically or Culinarily. And wow, it seems someone necrod this thread should have checked the thread creation date.

You can drop everything except fruit and vegetables. Even for picky eaters there is a ton to choose from.

I love them. I usually have only one serving of meat per day and the rest is vegetables, legumes, fruit, nuts, etc.

Nope. I only eat meat. Raw and wriggling. Can't afford my estrogen levels to get above 0.

Jk. I like veggies, however I usually need a protein to go with them. I eat a lot of beef, poultry, fish and dairy. I could probably afford to include more greens in my diet.

Right now I'm baking bacon-wrapped chicken breast stuffed with mushrooms and mozzarella.

I eat almost all vegetables, except for fried onion.
