Should I take it again in Senior year? I like it, but I'm so bad at it. Apparently its important too.

Physics is a hit or miss in high school. Unless you have taken calculus, learning physics early can be some what difficult. Calculus is vital to understanding physics.

I do not believe that physics is required. 'Round here, it was either physics or astronomy, and you had to choose one or the other...

No... You just need four sciences I think. I wish I could drop the science I'm taking (Anatomy and Physiology), but my school won't let me...

No. Usually biology and chemistry are the required sciences.

For music and video game design? No. Physics is more for electronics engineering. Though if you enjoy the subject then by all means, give it another try. A strong background in algebra, trigonometry and calculus is very helpful, and absoltutely required at the college level.

To graduate from HS? No. I have never taken it. For college? Depends on what you are majoring in... it wouldn't hurt to know something about it if your college major depends on it.

most if not all of my high school physics didn't involve calculus, it was only in college that calc was applied to physics. anyway TC, if you're interested in game design, i'd think it would be wise to take physics.

I'm sure there was a physics class. I really just meant I didn't take physics nor did anyone I know so not 100% positive.

It's optional as long as you have the amount of credits to graduate and the so many credits of science, etc. Atleast that's how it was at my high school.

There were high schools that had oceanography? My school only had the most common science courses. Hell, we only had Spanish available as a foreign language class and I heard people have taken different languages in HS... man... my school really sucked. :(

Biology

Earth Science

and Chemistry.

Was gonna do physics but the school won't let me since I have already done 3 years of science. Depends on your district.

I know I took the first three mentioned. I believe there was some AP sciences as well but I never set foot in one. I just wish that we had better choices. And people I have talked to in other areas talking about all these classes they were taking made me sad. :P

Dont really see why. I took physics in High School, got a grade that allowed me to have it counted as a 1st year course (was doing the I.B). Went into business and have never needed to go through anything about physics again. It entirely depends on what you do later on.

You don't build things in your spare time or do any calculations with loads and various other physic-y things? I'd say Physics (along with math of course) is probably my second most used "high school class" skill. English would be number 1 of course.

Haha I sadly do not do any physicy things. Math and Languages are a must. I would honestly say that the skills gained from Drama like public speaking and what not were more beneficial in the long run.

And whether you regard a well-rounded education entirely as vocational training :(

I would prefer it was. Going through four years of university, around 30-40 courses I found value in maybe 10. If you are paying for your education that is a lot of unnecessary fluff. Dont get me wrong having a well rounded education is important, but its not like him not taking physics is taking drastically away from that. I never took Biology past middle school and have next to no knowledge of chemistry. My education is still well rounded.

I'm pretty sure it depends on your state's curriculum. It was an elective at my high school - which I elected not to take. Which is something I regret - usually aspiring engineers will want to learn trig and all sorts of science - I was fine with geometry and biology -- lol.

Computer Programming in general at my college, has Physics as a required course.
