I can play a few songs on drums. Guitar Hero and Rock Band were sadly my teachers. I would love to get a real/electronic one later in life.

Nothing else though.

The instrument that I have played most though not well would be the mandolin.

I used to be able to play some songs on the guitar, but I haven't picked it up in so long I'd basically be a beginner again. I'd love to try to learn the piano though.

ToastRider11

Acoustics are generally harder, there's usually more space between the strings and the fretboard.

I did not think there was anythinig mean within your post. Regardless, if an individual trains with a single instrument instead of many, he or she will likely be a more skilled and specialized musician than if practicing with multiple instruments. So, you are being informative which is benefical to any aspiring musician.

I play the drums! Went and spent my tax return last year on a drumkit (after having been a beast on the rock band drums for some time now:P) and haven't looked back since!

Turns out the Rock Band drums were decent enough training as I have been teaching myself to play and have picked it up pretty easily.

I need alot of fine tuning ESPECIALLy with using my left foot, but being I have been able to play songs like this I am happy with the progress I be maiking!

Classically trained in piano for over twelve years, been playing guitar for about nine (but only took lessons for three). I do know my way around a piano--give me sheet music and time to practice, and I'm good to go. For acoustic guitar, I can play *decently* and by that I mean I've got a good number of tunes under my belt I can play and sing at any given time, some which sound pretty damn great (at least to my ears). But I know some people, I watch and listen to them work wonders, and I suddenly don't feel like playing anymore. :P

I like to think that i'm a pretty technically proficient guitarist and bassist. And a competent keyboard/piano player and drummer. I'm also entirely self-taught, at all of them. I played Clarinet in the school band in like 4th grade, but haven't touched one in about 12 years. I taught myself how to read sheet music, by taking what little basics I remembered from elementary school band, and studying sheet music of Dream Theater songs that I learned to play in the first place with guitar tabs.

.

jesuschristmonk

Same here. Learned a lot from Rock band, and the drums helped increase my stamina and I learned so many drum beats/fills etc from it.

27th in the world on the Rock Band 3 drum leaderboards at the moment

One could say that learning a second instrument would give you a better perspective on music when doing group or ensemble work. Or when writing music that has multiple instruments involved to know which each does best. In the end I think I could come back to benefit your primary instrument and lead you to think outside the box in terms of what you can do on that instrument.

I'm most proficient in the viola. I can also play the violin, ukulele, and kazoo. I can sort of play guitar, bass guitar, and piano.
