Can M$ do this please help

they just forced windows 8.1 on my pc? i lift it on sleep mode and when i come back it was updating to windows 8.1 from 8 .. thank god everything is ok only avg got f..up but i fixed it

AVG is garbage. 8.1 actually helps improve upon a lot of things. Why would you not want the update?

@jasean79: is not that i didn't want it? is just that M$ just did it with out even asking me if i wanted to upgrade

So...turn automatic updates off.

Like I said, it's for the better.

For anti-virus software, look into Microsoft Security Essentials. It's free and offers good protection. AVG was a nightmare when I used it on my earlier PC's.

@br0kenrabbit: always thought that was just for updating the current windows that you have. but not for a full change from one windows program to another.

but in full i like 8.1 just happy nothing else got f up..

Turn off automatic updates if you didn't want it

AVG was great on my earlier computers but it sucks now. I use Webroot now and never had a problem with it.

My sister upgraded to Windows 8.1 and now the tablet part/second screen on the back of her laptop doesn't work anymore. Anybody know a fix? She wants Windows 8 back.

Oh, she has one of those crap dual screen laptops. Is it the Asus one? Your best bet would be to contact the laptop manufacturer because it is a driver issue I'm sure they have some sort of fix. And she doesn't want Windows 8.0 back. Windows 8.1 is a far superior OS.
