Is this the call of duty 4 boy?
*reads*
Oh. That's sad. And people like Jack Thompson will just use this to blame videogames. :(
Is it just me or does anyone else have no sympathy for the kid?
I mean, he had a **** fit over an Xbox, ran away, and died less than a kilometer away from his house...
Whatever happened to him must have been pretty gruesome if they can't even ID the body. :?KLAX42
I think they know it is him, they just aren't saying that it is him 100% until the forensics are done. They are being official like that.

i agree. i feel sorry for his parents, but that kid was some kind of b**** to run away over his xbox.
Guys, there is no need for name calling.
I agree with you in that it was a very poor choice on his part, and he acted irrationaly, but there is no need to be unnecessarily cruel.

Thank you.
No you're not the only one. I can't believe how much publicity this thing is getting.
It's ridiculous. Did the kid lack common sense or something?
I'm sorry but I have no words for that kid.
Maybe he shouldn't have been so tense over the damn videogame.GamerBoy53
That's how I feel. His death is unfortunate, but over COD4? A pretty silly way to end it all. :?

I understand what you guys mean.
but nevertheless, I still feel sad that it happened. And that the parents were doing what they thought was right and that it ended like this.
when the boy threatened to run away, the father thought he was bluffing and packed the kid's bag for him, saying go ahead. -Sniper99-
lol, that sounds like something my friends and I would do. We'd go a bit further and place bets on how long he'd last till he came home, though.
Any word on the cause of death?rockguy92
No foul play thankfully , but they mentioned snow and cold, I'm guessing Hypothermia coupled with exhaustion after biking and no food/water...
I'm kinda torn it's a very sad story but it's stupid to run because your losing a game, there's more to life then CoD4.
Been following this story since the beginning, and it's a very sad one indeed. I hope you guys do realize that when the boy threatened to run away, the father thought he was bluffing and packed the kid's bag for him, saying go ahead. -Sniper99-
I understand that the father probably didn't believe that he would do it.
But when you think your kid is addicted to a first person shooter, and they get into an argument with you when your try to take it away. You know he's got problems. That was a poor decision, but I'm sure that this is very hard for them, and that they already know that.
I feel bad for the family and i know its mean to say. But its the kids fault.
Unless he was murdered then it is the kids fault. He runs away from a perfect home, and he gets himself killed just because of a videogame. Common where is the logic in that. He could of went home at any time, but he decided not to.
If the boy died because he was murdered then my whole attitude would change.
As someone who lives in Barrie I don't really think it's fair of people saying they have no sympathy for him. Obviously he overreacted and it took a tragic turn for the worse, but I don't see how you can't feel any sympathy for him, his family or the community.Big_player
As a local you probably have more information on this situation than the rest of us, do you have any ideas as to the cause of death?

I don't know what to tell you, cause I don't.
He could have just went home, but he didn't... I don't understand.

He probably thought his dad didn't want him anymore so he left and stayed away. I doubt he would have ran away if his dad didn't do that and even if he did it would have probably been for like an hour.

It hard to have sympathy for someone who runs away from home.
I have more sympathy for his parents who lost a son. Or for the people living in 3rd world countries fleeing wars and fighting.
Yes I still feel sorry for him, but I see where they are coming from.

I feel for his parents. The death of a loved one is tragic, especially if its your child.
But the kid.

I don't feel sympathy for stupidity.

Oh, I see. Thanks for giving a bit of insight. It's unfortunate that this had to happen.
I don't know why but I really don't feel much sympathy for him. I mean, yeah, it sucks he's dead and I feel really bad for his family. But he ran away over something so trivial. Life could be worse than not having Call of Duty.
I think that people really need to stop with this "oh I don't feel bad for him" BS. Maybe this kid had some mental problems, or maybe he had a bad life at home, and playing video games was his only way to forget all his problems in life. Then his dad takes the game away and packs his bags for him to run away. Would YOU feel loved/wanted?-Sniper99-Maybe, but theres been nothing to say that thats the case, so...
Besides, you wanna get away from an abusive family? Make friends, dont rot in a chair playing games. Its his own fault.

My point being is that it could be so, so much worse. I'd like to feel bad for him, I just can't.
