10 - Bon Jovi

With hits like Living on a Prayer and Dead or Alive (Which will always be the anthem for Lost & Damned), Bon Jovi were one of the best rock groups of the 80's, Job Bon Jovi also experienced good solo success.

9 - AC/DC

Australia's #1 Rock Group, and personally, my favourite Rock group ever, I eventually made my own 2 disc greatest hits to listen to in my car, Disc 1 is Bon's era and Disc 2 is Brians era, :D.

8 - Led Zep

Led Zep, to be honest, ive only liked maybe 4 or 5 of their songs.. not really my favourite group but its undeniable how talented they are, more of a greatest hits group to me (Holds up Flame Shield).

7 - The Beatles

Ah yes, the fab four, quite possibly the best artists of all time, although there have been better groups in the past few years I must admit I do love The Beatles still.

6 - The Jimi Hendrix Experience

Ah yes, Jimi.. best guitarist in the world.. awesome music, who dosn't like him?

5 - The Who

My Generation & Behind Blue Eyes.. 2 great songs, and they have heaps more, they just rock!

4 - U2

Irelands best export, one of the best groups of all time, Bono is a great singer.

3 - Kiss

Oooh yeah, who never saw these bad boys coming?

2 - The Pink Floyd

.. and if the band your in starts playing different tunes.. i'll see you on the dark side of the moon...

1 - Queen

One Vision! Queen are the greatest, Freddie is my Idol

All 3 of Nirvana's studio albums are amazing. Van Halen's best albums are from the 70's and 90's (although I like all of them). Bon Jovi's 80's releases are too inconsistent. I like their self titled, 7800 Fahrenheit is ok, Slippery When Wet is amazing, and New Jersey is mediocre. This is all my opinion of course.

1. The Killers -Have to pick them because they got me into all the music I like now. They were my first favorite band.

2. The Smiths- Shed many tears and danced all night to these guys.

3. The Strokes- Julian Casablancas is the coolest guy on the planet.

4. Radiohead- Who would argue against OK Computer being one of the best albums ever?

5. Joy Division/New Order- Because Im a sucker for synthesizers and 80's pop.

6. Death Cab for Cutie- Cried to too many of their songs for them not to be here.

7. Bloc Party- Really smart lyrics and they have some attitude.

8. Oasis- Well, everything before the year 2000.

9. The Cure- Nice and depressing...

10. U2- Achtung baby. Yes

In no order, as my preference in music changes too often anyway.

Nine Inch Nails
Tool
A Perfect Circle
Puscifer
Queen
Stolen Babies
Racer X

Do 'solo artist' count, it's not a 'group'? Screw it, does in my book.

Buckethead
Steve Vai
Paul Gilbert

And about your opinion on Jimi, not the greatest and I never cared for his voice, Paul Gilbert's covers are better than the originals and I find Jason Becker to be the most impressive guitarist, partially due to age relative to skill in writing/playing.

I just can't take someone seriously in music when you have Lady Gaga as sig and profile pic. I can't really think of that many bands as I listen to so much different music and bands that fuse different genres it's hard to list but 1. The Beatles 2. Radiohead 3.Phish 4.Rush 5.Yes 6.Creedance Clearwater Survival of the top of my head.

Yello? Well that's another interesting one - you're right though I'm not sure they'd qualify as rock
