Revenge is a common theme in films, but these films do it best to me.

1. Get Carter- Michael Caine is brilliant in this classic film.

2. Dead Man's Shoes

3. Death Wish

4. Old Boy

5. Mad Max

6. Once Upon a time in the west

7. Sleepers

8. Straw Dogs

9. The Crow

10. The Virgin Spring

And though it isnt just about revenge it sure has alot of that in it, also I just love to bring this film up:D

11. Let the right one in

Some consider Get Carter to be the British equivilent of Dirty Harry but personally I think Get Carter is a better film. The Stallone remake sucked though.

Ted Dekker has a book with a similar story, so I was able to predict the ending!

The complex details he went through in the book would make a really really long movie... I wish they put the crazies in the Cavizel version though.

Did you read The Man in the Iron Mask, and The Three Muskateers? Same author did them and they are both great.

Yes sir I did. His story in itself is pretty awesome being what he was during that time -- to be the one to come up with such epicness as Monte Cristo.

I saw Once Upon a Time In the West was on your list. It must be good, but I was wondering how good? Thats the movie with Bronson and Fonda, right?

I recently looked up The Arcade Fire on youtube and they had a song with a video of that movie cut to it and it simply looked like a great movie.

Here is the link for those that are curious (potential spoiler)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pyp34v6Lmcc&feature=related

Its already on my Netflix que im just wondering if its worthy of being pushed up to number 1. Its a loooong list.

I would add as honorable mentions since they're more horror thorugh and through, but also revenge films to a degree: Black Christmas, Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street.

IGN made a top 10 list. I have only seen a couple of these films.
