Band that you like that no one else seems to.

Mine is Faith No More. I have met plenty of fans online, but never in person. Half the people who I tell look at me funny and ask who Faith No More is,while the other half say that all they do is scream,which tells me that they have never really listened to them.

Pffft I grew up listening to bands no one else liked and didn't have the Internet as company.

None of my family or friends have ever shared my music or style. It's a side of me I keep to myself. My car radio is always off and constantly people are like 'wtf are you listening too?'when they make out sounds coming from my headphones. My playlist is basically a collection of extracts from gothic themed bands. There's plenty of people into that sort of thing around here it seems.

maybe you just havent looked hard enough? their are a bunch of people who like them, maybe not on here though. ive seen them twice live, theyre just plain awesome. as for the topic, i have to say dredg, just because alot of people dont really know who they are.

The message of Lifehouse especially in their first CD, pretty much puts most CDs to shame. And I for one like the sound.

How about...Low. Not many people I know like Low. In fact, most people I know dislike Low, except for a few I've met online.

Most of the Gothic metal (allowing a bit of leniency on the defenition as lots of people seem to be uptight about what fits in this genre) that I listen to is unknown to anyone that I know IRL. :(rb2610

Edit to finish what I was going to say - People do get very uptight about the sub genres. I'm never right in anything I say about the music. I'll call Lacuna Coil Gothic metal but some guy will leap out from behind a rock and scream:

Well I listen to a wide variety of stuff. I like prog rock, and some of my friends do too, so we sometimes share some bands and etc. However, I'm also pretty much into experimental/noise/drone/etc. music which I have yet to see someone who knows a band like that.Berzz

Like Hella or Lightning Bolt? Or Nadja? Brian Eno & David Byrne's collab album "My Life in the Bush of Ghosts"? Brian Eno solo stuff? The Drift? Eluvium?

Three arguments off the top of my head that my friends use whenever I pop in some "Drums & Guns", The Great Destroyer" or "Things We Lost In The Fire" . It's pretty depressing that my friends can't stand them.

The don't know Brian Eno? The dude who is probably one of the best producers of all time, who has helped musicians evolve into legendary status (David Bowie, U2, etc.), who also puts out arguably the best ambient music, and who is a go to guy whenever companies need tiny jingles, or music for movies.....

So sad that he isn't heralded. Even IF he doesn't consider himself a musician. He's a genius.
