Ok, so today, after I got out of class, I went to sit down on a bench waiting for the shuttle bus to arrive. For some reason, I started to think about how most of the people I see are NOT fat at all. So I decided to conduct my impromptu experiment. The area I was in on campus has a lot of people passing by. So, based on looks, I started counting how many people were "fat". Out of 100 people that I counted, 5 of them were "fat"... and 1 out of those 5 is what I would call "obease".
So basically, only 5% of those 100 people that walked by were fat. And only 1% were obease. And I live in Texas, which is known for being one of the fattest states. So where do these statistics come from that something like 30% of Americans are OBEASE?
I just found this today:
I honestly don't get it. And one more thought... I always find it funny that British and Australians make fun of Americans for being fat... when they are also one of the fattest countries on earth.
