Any Gaymers out there? (No Hate)

I wanted to create this topic for other Gay gamers out there, and hope that people can leave hate out of this, but wanted to know that I am not the only one here and if there is anyone else out there are you Gay/Bi/Lesbian/Gender Neutral? and what are your favourite games? :)

why would you want to find gamers that are gay? do "gaymers" have some kind of an especial approach to the whole gaming activity or something?

You have an opinion good for you, this is a completely off-topic discussion and has every right to be here, if people want to respond they can if not then they don;t have to, no need for your ignorance and trolling here, there's many other topics for you to troll.

1. This is an internet forum. I have never felt the need to state my sexuality here and even if I did, I would have no reason to be afraid to do so. No one is going to punch me through their monitor.

2. Most members on this forum have pretty liberal social views, so stating that your gay isn't going to cause some apocalyptic shit-storm of a reaction.

Unless your stating your sexuality to tell a story in support of an argument during a debate, there is no need unless you're looking for attention.

I'm just a gamer, although more of a casual one these days. Sometimes I go back to playing RTS games hardcore but they steal my life away.

when it comes to gaming, sexual orientation shouldnt be the first thing that comes to mind.

There was a lesbian gamer making a fuss about people online being rude about homosexuals. She then took it as personal and thought that everyone else was like that. I forgot what her account name is.

First thing that comes to mind is casual or pleb.

My last boss was gay, I also had a co-worker who was gay and I recently got high with my lesbian friend. They don't game I believe but are awesome people. I think gay people who game have to deal with being, well 1. Gay and second being a gamer... It's tough to relate when you feel so alienated. I never minded gay people but I do have a problem with them being so sensitive when it comes to playing video games. I don't try to treat my gay friends any different, if you say something retarded I am going to tell you and I expect the same in return. I don't want to believe I have the "coolest" gay friends but I do believe there are cool gay gamers out there who aren't so fucking opinionated about shit all the time and enjoy this medium of entertainment.

You didn't really have to say "gaymer", just a gamer who happens to be homosexual would've been fine.

That wouldn't fit in Gamespot's 10 character limit for topic titles though.

Almost the entirety of mainstream culture is straight-oriented, wanting to talk to other gay people that might share your perspective for a change isn't segregating things any more than they already are.

I'm assuming you are speaking about me. You're assumption is completely wrong by the way. I never said everyone here was bigots, but I said some are; and I tried to make them see reason and understand that homosexuality isn't something to be afraid off. There was plenty of nice, reasonable people that showed their support, but you were not one of them.

To the OP: I'm gay. I've been on this site for like half a year. I mostly prefer RPGs. I'm a big fan of the persona games, and I play pretty much anything BioWare makes.

What difference does it make? Does it make you a better gamer?

Words are flexible, and they're meaning can be altered if everyone agrees on the new definition, which is what me and the other people I had a debate with privately did. I did a mistake and used the words by my definiton in the debate we had forgeting and I forgot to explain my definitions to you, therefore causing confusion. It was a mistake I did one time, and I have not done it since. I usually use those words by their official definition and my previous mistake has taught me to always make sure to explain it to to others if I use them by another definition. I'm not interested in having a debate about words with you, so please don't start with your usual BS, I won't say anything more on the subject with you. You should learn to move on, you won't make many friends by continously pointing out that they did a stupid mistake.

Don't see how a sexuality should define a gamer, or anyone for that matter. Straight people aren't all close minded. Unless you wanted to talk about your sexual lives, having a gay friend would help to have a comfortable conversation. In a community about games, we talk about the games and not our social lives since a lot of us suck at it.

This belongs in a blog, I'm glad you're happy that you're gay, i hope we legalize gay marriage across the whole country, but this thread belongs on livejournal.
