Dubstep definitely is a London sound. When the right tracks come on in the club, it's awesome. You need a proper good DJ for dubstep though.

Dubstep isn't really my thing. I prefer electronic artists like Royksopp, and Future Sound of London. I don't know what genre they belong to.

Dubstep is an annoying fad, one that is likely to pass within the next five or six years. People will start to realize that wobbly-bass is just annoying, and does nothing to demonstrate mastery of synthetic instruments.

You say it's a London sound, eh? Good! I was ashamed to think that my fellow U.S. citizens were listening to that filth. Real electronica, like Daft Punk, Simian Mobile Disco, and Metro Area are all good examples of the proper techno sound. Music that actually cares about well-defined rules of good songwriting.

Deadmau5, Bassnectar and the like are all pushovers.

Give a country hick some power chords, a raspy, incomprehensible voice and the attitude of a disillusioned yet privileged suburban youth. Keep the white supremacist outlook. Voila, your next nu metal sensation.

Nothing at all. The genre lives on in commercials for household cleaning products and vans from Toyota.

Except of course the annoying fanboys that defend it. Then again, I guess we both fall under that category, huh? So there's no use arguing.

Dubstep eminates really from Croydon and Bristol. Not sure if it can go anywhere from here - it'll always be a fringe scene varying in popularity. Some really great tech house seems to making a resurgence in the UK at the mo which is more my bag...

'Fad' is about right - its merely a mash on genres that extends on the same line as the brief (and pretty rubbish) speed garage fad that started in the late 90s in Croydon. It'll probably go the same way as the electroclash bubble that re emerged and burst at the start of the 00s. At least rave was fun - dubsteps a little too dark to ever grab the attention of the masses. Too much reliance on massive soundsystems to be fully appreciated at home as well... Anyway just my opinion...

There's a fair bit of dubstep I really enjoy. For instance, Burial. There's also a fair bit I'm indifferent to, and does nothing for me.

Wait, is dubstep a genre or a band? And what's the difference between electronic and the video OP posted?
