Clint Eastwood managed Iwo Jima/Flags of our fathers. Not unheard of for a director to direct more than one at the same time... I'm not totally sure of this but i think Peter Jackson did all 3 films at once for LOTR.Â

Yeah but with Lord of the Rings that was really just one 10 hours long film. What would you rather have 1 film with Boyles full expertise and attention paid onto it. Or two films where he was always going back and fourth and could never really focus on one?I enjoyed the first film, and I like zombie movies in general, so I'll check it out.
I don't think it has a chance of surpassing the first one, but if you make a movie with rage zombies, then you'll probably get $8 out me. It's just a policy I have.
