The calender on my wall ends in 2009.

No, it will not be the last year. I honestly feel really sorry for people that get caught up in these things. Humans have been predicting the end of the World since we've been alive.. NONE Of them have ever been right.... and none of them ever will. Yes, the world will eventualy meet it's end.. of which nobody is able to predict as of now.

I will be sleeping on whatever date before "doomsday" is at 11:59 P.M and see if it really is real.No one knows when and how the world will end.

I thought the History Channel was supposed to air shows about history, not BS. Well it's not PBS, so I guess they just air whatever they think will get the highest ratings, just like the rest of the private Capitalist TV networks.

The other night I spent sometime thinking about what it would mean to me if 2012 were the end of humanity...it is unfamiliar to think that what is in front of us can be gone so quickly...the people we love or even the desk we sit at and the computer we type on...to be pulverised, non-existent, and unimportant is foreign, yet familiar. Life is a fine balance...we'll never know when it will end, but attachments (whatever form they take) gives us the comfort we need to have hope and purpose. We need to define everything, especially if it means masking the pain of our own fragility...of our own mortality.

Everything must die and with that knowledge we still wake up each morning, go to work, school, meet up with our loved ones for lunch or dinner, buy things, procreate, celebrate holidays, travel, and grow to have opinions/purpose...but to what extent? At some point the ritual is broken...and then what? We've been asking that question forever...then what?

A Mayan has already debunked 2012. I guess you didn't get the memo.

I love how so many people take the Mayan calendar seriously. So they had the foresight to predict the end of the world, but not to invent pants or prevent their own people's demise?

I know exactly when the world will ACTUALLY end. In about, 3 or 4 billion years or so when the sun runs out of gas and explodes. The human race will be extinct my then though, so it doesnt matter.

I know what I would do.

I'll be throwing a party the night of Dec 22nd.

I know it wont end, but even if the world would end tomorrow theres nothing anyone could do to stop it and any regret would just be pontless because once your dead, anything related to no longer carries any meaning and everything moves on...

Nothing will happen. That is why I will laugh when everyone else is wetting theselves.

Probably nothing but the usual, while the doomsayers try to kill everyone because they're sick and tired of always being wrong. Or worse, they could steal all the chocolate hobnobs, a UK biscuit - oat and rice biscuit with chocolate on one side, delicious. That wouldn't be the end of the world, but it would be war.

"They took the chocolate hob nobs?! FIRE THE NUKES!"

But most likely the sun will rise and set as ever, the powers that be will swindle, lie and milk the ever milked population and another reality tv show will appear. Just another day, another year. After all they've been saying the world will end for a while now, makes you wonder if the doomsayers need to chill with a good movie and a massage.

Nothing out of the ordinary. I´ll just continue doing my thing, until something tangible comes by and prevents me from doing so, be that 2012 or any other thing that might or might not kill me

*sigh* this has been debunked 100's of times. The date 2012 was changed to like 2122 or something like that first of all. The Mayan natvies themselves say it is not true, it was made up by Americans. All I know is that I'm going to be drinking with some good buddies and laughing it up at the people that thought the world would end. Either way, we're going to be feeling good even if the world ends.

I think our civilization will go extinct before something like this happens or we kill the world, whatever floats you boat.
