Weather? What weather? Google has announced the Nexus 10, a Samsung-made 10.05-inch tablet that appears to share a lot of DNA with the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. Android chief Andy Rubin revealed that the device will be packing a 2,560 x 1,600 display, promising a pixel density of 300 ppi. Google has also indicated that the Nexus 10 will crank out nine hours of continuous video playback and 500 hours of standby on its 9,000mAh lithium polymer battery. Of course, no new tablet would be complete without a new operating system, and while we'll still be calling it Jelly Bean, it's now been bumped all the way up to Android 4.2.

The official specifications match those that were leaked late last week, and inside the device is a dual-core, Cortex A15-based 1.7 GHz Samsung Exynos 5250 CPU. In addition, there's a Mali T604 GPU, stereo speakers, 2GB of RAM, NFC, 802.11 b/g/n (MIMO + HT40) WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, with front-and rear NFC (Android beam) radios. 'Round back you'll find a 5-megapixel main camera and a 1.9-megapixel forward-facing shooter. Weighing 603 grams, it's 8.9mm thick and offers microUSB, Pogo Pin, microHDMI and the standard 3.5mm headphone jack. It'll be available from November 13th on Google Play in the US, UK, Australia, France, Germany, Spain, Canada and Japan -- with the 16GB edition costing $399 (£319 in the UK) and the 32GB version setting you back $499 (£389).

Hot damn! I thought those rumors were just more pipe dreams, but those specs at that price point make this the best tablet to date. Combine that with the Nexus 7 and the Nexus 4 and wow...Google and Co. is really turning up the heat on Apple now. Cant wait to get my hands on the Nexus 10! Wish the Nexus 4 had LTE, Im through Verizon so thats a bit of a deal breaker but great phone otherwise.

Not reviewed that great. Only real reason to get it is for the massive resolution, the transformer infinity is rated better overall and has a faster processor, brighter screen and can be found for around the same price, not the deal the nexus 7 is. And theres zero chance a tegra 3 is faster than a dual core A15 chip.

Coming from the Samsung fan. You can't deny the Asus tablets are built much better with better materials than Samsung and they have more cores. Sure it isn't all about the cores but the nexus 7 actually beats the nexus 10 in many tests and the infinity has a much faster terga 3. Samsung devices just look cheap next to a ipad or transformer. imprezawrx500

Samsung makes the most ergonomic porducts and thats whats most important. I dont freaking care about slippery and cold aluminium on a tablet. Not to mention plastic is best material for these devices since they all get so hot.

Did you really just bring no. of cores into the equation?? Which tests are you talking about? There has NOT been a nexus 10 review so far with final firmware so I wouldnt look at the reviews right now. And ever thought that maybe the benchmarks are not optimized for the new android version or the new chipset? Do you remember the S2 launch? It was slower than the tegra 2 in alot of benchmarks.

It is also important to note that the nexus 10 has TWICE as many pixels as the ASUS infinity. Do you also know that the ASUS has so many wifi issues and other quality control problems?

Yes but Asus is very good with updates, it only took them a month or two to update to jellybean. imprezawrx500

the Jelly Bean upgrade didn't solve the performance, lag, and stuttering issues that are all too endemic to Android. The Infinity still lags a bit when launching or closing apps, and scrolling in the browser is still pretty clunky. Everything's better, for sure, and thanks to the 1.6GHz Tegra 3 processor this is as capable a gaming tablet as I've used. Still, the Infinity's general performance still lags behind the iPad's fluidity and smoothness, and even that of the Nexus 7.

Instead of benchmarks try to concentrate on the real performance that matters. The nexus 10 blows away the transformer where it matters due to being in the hands of more capable devs.

Still waiting for some shops to get the Nexus 10 so i can try before i buy, not looking like it'll happen soon when google is running out themselves..
