iOS Gaming Community App - What would you want?

For my final year project at university, I have tasked myself with creating an app.

I have chosen to create an app dedicated to finding other players, with different playing types for a range of different games.

I am wanting to get ideas and inspiration for this project. What would you ideally want in a gaming app? What features would benefit you? Are there any specific functions that you would like to implement? Are there any apps that you currently use that don't meet your needs?

Please post any ideas or inspiration that you may have, anything is better than nothing.
