Its getting painful in there. Spark some debate people!cakeorrdeath:o
A MOD telling us to start debates in System Wars!? A MOD!
Ya know what will happen don't ya? :P
From what I've seen, System Wars is getting boring for me. There hasn't been an interesting fanboy rant or very debateable post in there for a while. We need some fanboys to spice up the thrill of System Wars.blizzvalve
yep, sadly
PS3_FTW hasnt come on for some time and ginger seem to have gone back to his neutral self so it doesnt seem like there will be anyone good.
also im starting to get tired of SW, too much of the same thing.
Well I do have three really good topics on stand by for just the occasion. I wright them and save them for future occasions. Yes I'm cool like that. Say the word Cake and I'll unleash one tonight. And no it won't involve Madden.
Blackbond
Go for it, I'm currently arguing with people about lists of games no one knows anything about.:(
[QUOTE="blizzvalve"]Well for some reason I'm not happy about the way System Wars is run.cakeorrdeath
Why whats wrong?
Well here's one reason. Mostly it's about the big decisions like the sales vs. games. The voting system for that is Flawed.
bah! None of you guys have come in! I just had gingerdivid backing me up! I mean come on people!cakeorrdeath
I have. I have been posting a lot in System Wars today.
I spend about 90% of my time I am at GS on SW, with a few days exceptions, such as after seeing the same fanboy threads time after time...SpruceCaboose
Yeah you, Sub, Blackbond and a few others I still see there regularly but the rest of them are just slackers:P
Yeah that sticky, its like turning a debate forum into an online RPG forum almost.
Like someone told me, its turning into one big game.
I don't know man...I think I'm burned out on SW. I just don't care about SW anymore. Back when I first started posting there, I couldn't get enough with it. There were good fanboys to argue with (Yes, there is a such thing as a good fanboy), great debates going on, and frankly, on Friday nights, things were a lot more laid back, posters started these great community threads where folks were just kicking back and talking with each other and having fun. You don't see many of those threads any more. After E3 06, things just began to suck and things have just gone down from there...
I try, but everytime I go there I see a topic that makes me want to turn my computer off and go beat my head in with a rusty rebar pipe.jechtshot78
Then there's this. I completely agree. Some folks in SW are just so dense that I don't even bother talking to them anymore.
bah! None of you guys have come in! I just had gingerdivid backing me up! I mean come on people!cakeorrdeath
LMAO!
I'm there all the time. I still think it's an entertaining place. There's one dude whose sig is a gif of Kojima's head on a stripper's dancing body...he's been sparring with me as of late, but not putting up much of a fight :P

Who did you consider a good fanboy?
System Wars has grown tiresome. Over the past few days i've barely posted there... Hell, i've not been posting as much on Gamespot full stop. It's just the same old arguments over and over again... "PS3 has no good games", "PS3 is selling crap" and "$600" have killed any of the fun. It's like the fallout from E306 all over again, so I would rather hang out with more open-minded people who share the same interests in gaming. But alas, I feel that even GUFU has been slowing down a bit... I just don't see as many game-related threads or as much activity as i'd like. Gamespot, in general, is getting boring.

Who did you consider a good fanboy?
Way back when I liked to argue with The likes of Rimla_FX, McDonaldsGuy (I've heard he was a fakeboy and if so, he was really good at it)and AfriGamer. These guys were huge fanboys, buttheywere fun to argue with.
Onefanboy who's gone now that I really enjoyed arguing with was Wudi09.He was a fanboy, but a fanboy who knew what the heck he was talking about most of the time. His arguments wereoften very well formed, well supported and that challenged me to improve my own arguments. Debates with him were likea chess match. I always had to stay a few moves ahead of him. In my responses to him, I would not only address the argument at hand, but present counterpoints to any backup points he could bring up. It really honed my debating skills.
A few otherfolks I liked to argue with at the time were Cazzidyizabeast, Elie05,GCousinand Black_Walstreet. Just to name a few.

I think it's just the summer lull.
TGS is coming up soon, so there should be some good news to discuss then.

I do remember several of those guys. It does seem that there's a shortage of good debaters to argue with in SW these days.

I would love to think that's true... but every new thing on Gamespot, however awesome, will always face criticism. As an example, a console price cut is usually seen as "desperation" on the company's part, and new game announcements always have people whining "why isn't it on console B?". Even developers praising one system is seen as an attack on another, which is utterly ridiculous.

lol.
Gone are the days when the entire crew would roll up in SW and take a thread hostage and post it up for ransom

It's true. Any news can be spun negatively in SW.
But I meant that there should be more game-related news to talk about in GUFU when TGS comes around.

The 3 games threads I did in here had around 10-15 replies each. Doesn't seem like much interest. Its getting painful in there. Spark some debate people!cakeorrdeathI've never been one to spark debate or keep one going. I jump in with my opinion and throw it to the wolves. I always feel as if I am being really stupid when starting a thread. As if people are going to say or think... "Jeez noob, old" "Well that's incredibly wrong because..." "That's not possible because..." "etc" It's weird that I have no problem posting my opinions on any situation and I really don't care what people think. However, I care what people think about threads I start because it seems to be a much stronger correlation to my intelligence then an individual post in someone else's thread. Yes, this is a very twisted and idiotic way to look at it but I'm neurotic like that. Sorry Cake.

Some ammunition for the fire.
I've tired of the pointless arguements of SW long ago, and even venturing in there to just look is a pain. I just seem to enjoy the community of GGD more than SW now.Brain3000
You and me both. Whenever someone posts a link there and I head to the main board to see what discussion is going on, I exit out. So many idiots gathered in one place...I don't know why I was even apart of it long ago :? Then again, the days of old had some memorable people as well. People who actually made points, were formal, and could carry a reasonable debate.
One thing that bugs me in System Wars is that I never get recognized. Barely anybody reads my posts. So I have a hard time spreadinga good word all over System Wars. I still post, but I'm still angry over the people who ignore me.blizzvalvethen say something that stirs the fanboys (of course nothing unbiased), you're bound to get a few quotes.
I think the more I post in SW, the closer I come to getting banned :P I tend to get caught up by the high emotions there from time to time. sonicare
Me too. Plus I tend to play by the rules I'm used to from when I was active in SW so half the stuff I pull would probably be reason for a ban these days.

My 2 biggest topics were on which video game characters were virgins and the "Hardcore gamers are killing console gaming" infamous topic.

I know. I've found myself engaging in pleasant conversation with him. I've heard so many bad things about him...but I've found his company to be rather enjoyable.
