So are we having a pickem this year?

Midwest and the South are by far the toughest two brackets. The west one is a joke. Gonzaga, OSU and New Mexico as top seeds?
As a NC State fan I hate our seeding. Â I'd rather be an 11 seed like last year so that we'd be able to avoid the top-2 seeds until the Sweet 16. Â Toppling Indiana may not be impossible, but i'd much rather face a 6 and a 3 rather than a 9 and a 1.
OSU is 7th on BPI with a top 30 SOS, and a winning record against the top 50. B10 torny champs in arguably the toughest conference top to bottom in the league. They aren't an offensive powerhouse, but they get a lot of points off turnovers with some nasty D. They deserve the 2 Seed. Gonzaga only has two losses and New Mexico is a legit sleeper. Its the tournament, haven't we learned how unpredictable it is regardless of who should be where?Midwest and the South are by far the toughest two brackets. The west one is a joke. Gonzayga, OSU and New Mexico as top seeds?

New Mexico is 2nd in RPI, and 2nd in SOS. I challenge you to find a better 3 seed.

My school is in th NIT tournament. Yet Duke gets a #2 seed.
Oh well. I joined.
Who'd you beat besides Duke?
No one really besides NC State. But what does that say about Duke losing twice to Maryland, a 8-10 ACC record?
Its seems that the top 3 spots in the polls are cursed this year. Everyone seems to get there and then fall on their faces. Can't say what the Zags are going to do yet.Watching these first round games made me remember that most college basketball teams are godawful. JML897
You picked the exact same Final Four as I did. You poor fool. Welcome to the inevitable struggle for last place.

Yeah, I know nothing about New Mexico so I'm going to just assume they're going to be knocked out in the first round now. :PFantastic game all-around, sad to see Davidson lose though, they'll always a team i'll have a soft spot for after that 2008 tournament run.
Possibly stupid question, why was one of the at-large play in games for a #13 seed and the the other for an #11 seed despite the fact that those 4 teams were allegedly the last 4 in? Â Looking at the bracket it seems to be that all the other 13 seeds, along with one or two 12 seeds (Akron, possibly Oregont too) only got in because they won their conference tournaments. Â Â
Gonzaga should not be a 1 seed They should play in a real conference and stop inflating their record by beating up on bums every yearJML897
To their credit, they do tend to arrange a fairly brutal non-conference schedule every year.

Well yeah and this year they got beat by Illinois and Butler. Â I'm not going to we should have say that game was coming, but it's hard to justify them being a #1 seed or final-4 favorite.[QUOTE="Oleg_Huzwog"][QUOTE="JML897"]Watching these first round games made me remember that most college basketball teams are godawful. I have a general idea of who the good teams are and which schools have a history of good teams, but that's about it.
Fun fact: in 2 of the 3 years I've done this Gamespot pick-'em thing, I finished dead last. 3 out of 4, here I come! However, that doesn't mean you can't keep on taking my advice.
This is embarassing. Â The only positive I can possibly take from the past 24 minutes is the rebounding prowess of Richard Howell. Â Otherwise this has been a complete disaster in every facet of the game. Â
And then 10 minuts (real-time) minutes NC State uts the lead in half, and begins plays defense, penetrate the rim, and get out in transition. Â If Scott Wood can get going from behind the stripe we could really start making a game out of this. This is embarassing. CBS should be ****ing b!tch-slapped for suggesting Henderson was the reason they won that game. http://scores.espn.go.com/ncb/boxscore?gameId=330810275
Look at those stats, 7/30 from three-point land, 15-59 in two-point attempts, Ole Miss didn't fare much better, but all they had to do was shoot better than the other team.
Well Henderson was one of the big reasons Ole Miss won, he took that game over during Ole Miss' run to close the game out (he was terrible in the 1st half though). But yeah the fact that Wisconsin kept missing wide open jump shots was a bigger factor
JML897
He made a couple of shot while everyone else was doing ****. Speaking of ****, the West should be renamed Worst, cause of all the damn upsets, everyone thought the bracket would be won by a 4-8 seed, yeah right.
