I think there are only 5 teams with a legit shot at winning it this year. Those teams are (in no particular order):

Heat

Lakers

Thunder

Spurs (they're old, but they keep finding ways to stay relevant)

Celtics

I am going to say it will be a repeat of last year. Heat vs Thunder with the Heat winning it.

The Heat won't even have to worry about facing the Mavs in the playoffs. If the Mavs get into the playoffs (likely as a lower seed) they'll be a long shot at best to make the finals.

Also one on one matchups like you are doing in that post aren't really a good way of deciding how a matchup will go down.

I'm usually a pessimistic person, but I see the Heat coming out as the ECF Champs. I do think the Thunder/Lakers have a legit shot at winning it all though. And the Celtics will alweays find a way to push the Heat to the limit, no matter their age.

if the lakers can stay healthy...i'd say we will win it,,,

one of the biggest strengths of lebron james is his ability to make his teammates better...well now that lakers have steve nash we also have that ability... howard is better than bosh and kobe and wade will have a very nice battle.
we definitely have a shot...

the biggest thjing holding us back is our bench... it's worse than ever.oh i wish we would have kept fisher instead of blake.

gasol is what worries me a lot though... he is a cancer in this team imo... i just hope the chemotherapy of howard and nash can kill it.

Now that the season has started has anyone changed their standings? I don't see Lakers getting to the finals. They probably will get knocked out in the first round.

Right now it's a toss up between Spurs(#1), OKC and Clippers for the west. I think Chicago will take the East if they are healthy.

OKC lost harden so I am not sure how far they will get without him.
