Who thinks Mirror's Edge looks promising?

I've seen the trailers and been snooping around for details. I have to say this game sounds grand, the game mechanic is innovative and the storyline is intriguing enough. The graphics seen in the trailer are high quality stuff and everything looks fun and immersive. It feels like a blend of Assassin's Creed, Half-Life 2 and Riddick (wow).
Add to it the fact it's made by DICE, the guys behind the Battlefield series and we have something here.

I might end up getting a 360 to play this.

The concept. The controls. The color palette (meaning it actually has one).

This game is quite simply without precedent, and easily earns the #2 spot on my "most anticipated" list, wedged rather nicely between RE5 and Dead Space.

I've been following this one for a while. EDGE and Play both have some great articles about it. I'm just hoping they don't get rushed in develpoment and are allod to finish the game so that it conforms with what they hoped for it.

I'm seeing it as a blend of Getting Up, Crackdown and The Club (but much better).

Wow, well that's a premise that's never been done before >_>...

It's going to have more than just a cliche setup to have a decent storyline and IMO that's the only way a game like this will succeed, especially given the gimmicky (how the hell does that count for innovation these days?) gameplay.

I see it being another Assassin's Creed. All style and practically no substance.

Reminds me to much of Assassin's Creed. All flash and no content. Been watching since the beginning. The first levels might be a blast, but that's all it has. This game screams, generic.

Once your past the flashy running and bouncing, you got nothing.So far the lame far out weighs the good. The good only, being the hopping around.

I'm not paying much attention to this glitter covered rock.

If people want to pay 70 bucks to act like a lady Asian, makeup artist's nightmare. While bouncing around scripted tracks. Through a holed and weak basic a to b storyline. Enjoy! :D

They have to give me more as a gamer/consumer and stop showing off the same things, over and over. I get that you run and use par quor. How about going into much further detail on the rest of the game or is there nothing to tell?

It's definitely one of the most promising, original upcoming titles. The art-styIe is fantastic. But it's Digital Illusions, not really known for story-driven single-player games. We'll have to see how it pans out in the end. It could be something really special.

I really don't know about this game. On one hand, it looks like it could be really cool and really good fun, but on the other, it looks like it might be boring after the first level. I definitely need to see more on it. Caddy06_88
