I feel the same way about almost all the games you guys have listed thus far. :) I've a few games that are very special to me as well but that happen to be very well known; games such as Zelda Ocarina of time, Super Mario 64, Half Life 2... to name a few anyway.
Crash Bandicoot is definitely not a game you hear about very often, and while I wouldn't say that it gives me the same fuzzy feelings that Ocarina of Time does, it's a fantastic game that I enjoyed very much back in the good ol' days. However, I want to add a game that most users on here may not remember very much: Top Gear Rally.
Top Gear Rally was the bomb back when it was released, partly because it was the best looking racing game ever at the time and partly because I wasn't spoiled with games as a kid and only had Top Gear Rally and a handful of other games to keep playing over and over. So naturally I spent a lot of time playing the game, whether I wanted to or not. Not that it was a bad game mind you, I wouldn't trade the many hours I spent playing this game for anything.
Despite the visual element this is honestly not the best racing game ever made, it has some glaring flaws such as the shallow computer AI and small track selection, however it more than made up for it's flaws with the things it did right: it's paint shop provided a level of game customization unheard of on console games at the time and the few courses that it did have were very well designed and the various routes available kept each lap fresh and interesting.
It also made self-made games possible. In particular, my brother and me would often just run around the tracks playing "tag", or applying a police-car paint job designed with the paint shop and playing a police chase game where the "police car" would give the other player a 20 second or so head-start and then attempt to chase the running car. The race would be over when the police car made physical contact with the other car. A simple game for sure but one that provided hours of fun.
Oh, and did I mention that the menu music is fantastic? Check it out, this track made working in the paint shop mode a most relaxing experience that I'll remember forever.
