Today is Gamespots 20th anniversary, but no one cares

Just thought I'd mention it's GS 20th birthday. But sadly, not even the staff seems to care. So I'll wish them a happy birthday anyway. Happy Birthday, Gamespot. May you one day return to your former glory and purge all the awful changes made to the site the last several years. Yeah, I know....wishful thinking.

Because it seems strange that they did not make anything not even a special video on the front page.

But it´s kinda saying that no one cares, Gamespot as a site died a long time ago.

You can pinpoint the moment the site died to the day they decided to get rid of the game database. That's when you know they didn't give a flying **** anymore. Sad.

Well how many of the staff are still here from 20 years ago? I'm sure if everything was like it was 7 years ago we would've seen some really big celebration. And the badges.

Well, that wiki article also says that GS offers a paid subscription model so I'd take any data with a grain of salt. It also has the "launch" date as an earlier date than the date its listed as being founded because it's going off of the DNS registration date. I'm sure the ballpark is correct, but I wouldn't necessarily take these as exact dates.

But on a serious note the staff now wasn't a round in 1996 if I'm aware. So to them, it's not as important as putting up Marvel fan-art *shudders*

The important thing is gaming reviews still seem quite detailed, and from an individual perspective. Once/if that dies out? I'll just be here for the GD Forums.

Why celebrate when we can have more clickbait articles?

@AFBrat77: definitely, man. Greg Kasavin, Joe Fielder, Jeff Gerstmann, Ryan McDonald and Ryan Davis,Alex Navarro. and Rich Gallup. I tuned in every week for "On the Spot", even when it was a crap game they were showing. The format was fun. I don't know why the site even has a community manager anymore, since they don't do anything for the community.
