I like Dub Step but..some seriously dont work for trailers..That Far Cry 3 trailer comes to mind.

Particularly shooters. Syndicate, Far Cry 3, Borderlands 2. Kind of odd that everyone started using it at the same time.
They'll move onto the next trend soon enough. I might be reaching, but this reminds me of the E3 "Power" trend... but SR3 did it first and best.
I notived it too. The Borderlands 2 trailer, Far Cry 3 trailer and the syndicate review all had it. It's really annoying but at least B2 knew to mock themselves with it "More wub wub" :P
I like dubstep but I've pretty much had my fill of it in trailers now. It makes sense for some titles like Syndicate - for one thing it's a futuristic shooter so a bit of wub suits it quite nicely, along with it being a reworking the original theme tune by Skrillex. On the other hand, I found the dubstep in the Fary Cry 3 trailer to be a bit grating. I just don't think the marketing guys for that game really needto jump on the dubstep bandwagon. Seems silly to me.
...I did kind of enjoy the Borderlands 2 trailer though.

The borderlands one was acceptable because they knew it was so crass to put it in so they had fun with it eg. dancing claptrap.
The FC3 one however was very unwelcome. It felt very out of place. Like the BF3 99 problems trailers.

i totally agree with this borderlands 2 was more of a parody then anything[QUOTE="Blake135"] Dub Step Dracula68I am likely gonna regret asking but what in the blue hell is that?
Its a techno type of dance music so to speak but has a heavy emphasis on bass that sounds like "wub wub". If you heard it you would know it. Search Skrillex and you will know what it is

lol believe me I know already :P
Not my cup of tea but it does have its place at times and is very effective. Just not really well implemented into game trailers as of late
