PS2 Section?? Still?

Ok Honestly Gamespot needs to remove the PS2 section from the website. I understand it's had a lot of staying power (more than xbox and GC at least), but it's been 10 years. There are no news updates for that section, and if you look at the most popular "coming soon" section, all the games say TBA/Cancelled. All other games mentioned are generic ports of annual titles that will probably suck (Raw vs Smackdown or whatever, seriously?)

They still make PS2 games. Whether you like them or not, or even play them, is irrelevant. Even if they weren't making them, the PS2 is still one of the most popular gaming systems ever released and has probably the largest library of games. But I guess we should shut down all interest in it because you don't like it anymore. I agree with whoever said blog post. That is where you take your opinion so people you have selectively added to your friend list can agree with you and you can feel validated. Making a thread is only going to make people argue with you, which isn't hard when you are clearly wrong.

Technically the PS2 is still alive, so keeping the PS2 section up is still of diminutive relevance.

No way. The PS2 is still in production, and there still are games coming out for it. Whether they suck or not is another story.

This really should be a blog post... but I will say that it is not obsolete yet. You still see BIG pre-owned sections dedicated to PS2 games in stores... the day they go will be sad :(.Ashley_wwe

The PS2 has incredible staying power, so I don't see any particular reason to remove that section from the site.

Look at the top of the page, below the Gamespot logo. There is still a PS2 tab there, that's what TC was referring to.

PS2 is still being manufactered and sold at retail. It is not obsolete until Sony puts it to rest.

If anything the PS2 forum section should be brought back,

Well, the Ps2 is still selling and having a few games released on it, beside, it's not hurting anyone by keeping it.

As for the site tab, meh. It's not harming anyone.

It's still selling and the PS2 has a die-hard fanbase everywhere over the interwebs. Who cares if the games coming out now are crap. My favorite console in recent times :)

nope and they should have kept the gc section cause wii plays gc games and they still be sold , ,

i dont care and they should also keep all the others just for people like me who like collecting
