I've just bought a playstation 2 and I'm currently playing Hitman: Blood Money. The playstation is connected to a flat screen hdmi telivision, and it just uses the standard leads for the playstation 2. The problem is, that it appears to be fuzzy in some places, and when you read the newspaper at the end of a hit, you have to zoom up as much as you can to read it. Is there any way I can solve this or do I just have to get on with it? Thanks.

1. Alot of HDTVs have issues with the pre HD systems, my TV is fine, but alot have issues.

2. Get better quality cables, Id assume youre using composite cables (the red , white . yellow cables), try to get a component cable for the PS2 if you live in the US, or an RGB SCART cable if you live in Europe.

examples of what I mean

PS2 RGB SCART Cable

Also, Im assuming you did change the aspect ratio of the PS2 to the widescreen one, since your TV is probably displaying the picture at a widescreen ratio anyways.

go the configuration menu (when you start up the PS2 with no game inside) , and just scroll through the options , set the aspect ratio to 16:9

Thanks for your help mate, much appreciated. One more quick question, when my I stick a disk in my playstation, it doesn't load. It only loads when I turn off the machine (with the disc inside) and when I turn it back on. Do you know what could be causing that? It's not a problem, but I don't want it to end up breaking.

thats strange, it should load the disc up automatically when you put the disc in. give me a bit of time, ill check it on my PS2, maybe there is an option that needs to be turned on/off

I looked and sadly can't find an option like that , though some PS2 models have extra options, so might be that. Also , when you get a better cable , you will need to change the option on the PS2 (same place as the aspect ratio) , there is an option for video out which needs to be changed to "RGB", otherwise all the colours will be wrong.
