*reflecting sigh* it is fun to play now with revamped graphics and insane sound systems, but it is like everything is losing that nostalgic feeling now. Like the ps2 for a personal example just has...too good of graphics yet to make it have that feeling (only time will tell if something comes that makes it look nostalgic). It just doesn't give you that feeling that you get when you play on 16 bit or 8 bit games.

My top 5 nostalgia songs.

1. Pokemon G/S Music..in general...i think this hit me the most because i wasn't allowed to play this lol. So i'm always trying to sneak it in for some game time lol

2. Final Fantasy III Nes....Yes they actually made this game for the nes and i'm playing it right now. Even though I never played this for a pastime until now it just gives you that feeling.

3. Baseball Stars In-game music...lol this music fits the baseball mood perfectly. there is no question about it.

4. Donkey Kong Country 2 title theme...Man doesn't this them always give you the sense of adventure?

5. Supercross 2000 (Its the Next Big Thing)...its not often that an actual song gets me that feeling, but i played the crap out of that game so much that i could personally sing all the songs word by word without even the music.

My honorables that missed the cut.

Donkey Kong Country 1 Mine Cart theme
Super Mario Bros. 3 above ground level music
Super Mario World in general
Mario Kart Snes...Mario Circuit and Rainbow Road
Jurassic Park Snes in general
Gran Turismo 1/2 in general
Blades of Steel theme
Double Dragon II 1st level

I agree with your choices. As for me... well it is a good bunch, but if i have to prezizise; Most music from Chrono Trigger, espicially the song that plays in the woods outside guardia castle.

Super Mario 64: Fantastic songs wich gives me a nostalgic kick. Espicially the one that plays in Dire Dire Docks

Zelda OoT: Just about everything.

Mario land series and gameboy music in general: Thoose beeps coming out of the gameboy are just gorgeous. Nice examples on this are the star Maze music in Mario Land 2 and the battle theme for Pokemon Yellow.

...Yea, thats my personal picks. There are some more, but i aint gonna keep you with my blabbering :)

The two that comes to mind are the gameboy tetris theme and the boss battle theme for teenage mutant ninja turtles: turtles in time.

Spyro games on the PSX had the best music at the time. Stewart Copeland is a genius.

Donkey Kong Country 2 did have an amazing soundtrack. I still love Stickerbush Symphony. For other games, I'd say Castlevania III and Taboo.

Any of the music tracks from Doom and Doom 2 Sonic The hedgehog 1-2-3 Soundtrack. Menu theme for Super Mario Kart for SNES. Super Mario Bros 3 Soundtrack. To name a few give me a nostalgia sensation.

All the music from Pokemon R/B/Y, but only when it is 8-bit.

Crash Team Racing music contains nostalgia as well.

FFVI - The fierce battle, dancing mad and Terra's theme.

Super Castlevania - Simon's theme

Super metroid - Kraid/Crocomire/Phantoon theme

Donkey Kong country 2 - Bramble blast

there's more but these are the one on top of my head at the moment.

Sonic The Hedgehog. (title music)

Secret of mana's intro(over the SQUARE logo, there were whale noises :P).

Final Fantasy 7 initial credit music, (the synthesised melody that grows as the credits roll before the meteor crashes through the screen and smashes the FF7 logo into your mind, I love that music)

Shenmue, and Shenmue 2's orchestral soundtrack is excellent. Really set's the tone of the games.

Yoshi's island, "Wha-Wha" noise and the clickety click timer as you run to catch baby mario!

I was playing Metroid the other day.....i almost forgot how compelling that title music was. Making you feel all alone in space, like you are about to embark an adventure that will never bring you back to reality. Like you knew it was going to be epic all the way through.

I agree with your CT, SM64 and OOT choices too. My favorite from SM64 is Koopa Road, the one that plays in the bowser levels. And pokemon GS did have an awesome soundtrack, I really like the Goldenrod city theme and basically everything else.
