Most Iconic SOUND EFFECTS in Gaming

Since we had the most iconic characters thread, it was quite a coincidence that they made this video :P
I agree with all on the list, and I'd add the Pacman walking sound (it appears in the video but not the list). But I can't think of any more to be honest.

What do you think of the list? And which would you add?

That is a good list but five is too few, if you ask me. Here is some I would add:

1. Game Boy start-up chime

2."You win... Perfect!" from the Street Fighter II.

3. Sound when Mario dies in Super Mario Brothers.

4. Gannon laughing on the game over screen in Zelda II.

5. "Nuclear Launch Detected" in Starcraft.

6. Weird noise you here when you get a tetris on Game Boy Tetris.

There's a distinct lack of non-console games in the list.

I'd say the lurking imp noise in Doom should be right up there.

The terrifying wail that tells you there's a fast zombie nearby in Half Life 2.

Erm.. that's all i've got right now. I'll come back.

I say #5 needs to be replaced with the sound that enemies make in Doom when they're shot

FINISH HIM - Mortal Kombat

FATALITY - Mortal Kombat

FIGHT - Any fighting game, but mostly Mortal Kombat

Super Mario OST - Mario games

I still get a sniff and a tear whenever i hear the 'Segaaaa' ident chime on sonic the hedgehog 1, takes me back to some good times in my life.

Very, very similar. The Game Boy chime is higher in pitch though.

Some more PC ones:

"Mein Leben!" from Wolfenstein 3D.

Construction sound from SimCity 2000.

Sound of a function key clacking so you can boot directly into MS DOS.
