I'm thinking about either getting a SNES or a Sega Mega Drive.
My questions are:
1) which console has the best games?
2) which console is the cheapest to get games for?
3) what would you say the top 10 for each console is?
THANKS EVERYONE.

The Genesis has a bigger offering of arcade titles than SNES and has the best era of Sega exclusives, IMO (Sonic, Golden Axe, Altered Beast, Streets of Rage, etc.). SNES offers slightly better graphics and sound, and has the legendary Nintendo exlusives such as Mario, Metroid, and Zelda. Sega has the 32X and Sega CD add-ons, as well as the Power Unit Converter allowing you to be able to play Master System games, 32X games, and Sega CD games. Super Nintendo has the Super Gameboy Player allowing you to be able to play original Game Boy and Gameboy Color (minus some of the colors) games.
Both of them have great third-party support, a large library of games, and plenty of accessories.
1) which console has the best games?
That's really a matter of preference. I prefer SNES over Sega Genesis due to what I believe are better exclusives on the SNES, but they are very, very close in my book and Genesis has great exclusives as well.
2) which console is the cheapest to get games for?
Sega Genesis, no doubt. For most games (of course there's rare exceptions) Genesis games go for under $10 a piece. But as long as you're not looking for JRPGs, most SNES games are also affordable.
3) what would you say the top 10 for each console is?
SNES
Genesis
My advice: Get both of them, the consoles themselves are quite cheap and the games are easy to find. You can afford it.
well just get a chinese 3 in 1 that plays NES, SNES, and Genesis games. then you wont have to decide. You'll be able to play Donkeykong country or Sonic2. Streets of Rage 3 or Final Fight One. Mortal Kombat with or without blood (lol). Mario Kart or Virtua Racing
Bonks Adventure,Bonks Revenge...COMEON...cant believe these were not mentioned??..Awesome games..Plus I have a big head and he reminds me of me..:)lol
Both have great RPGs, both have great shmups, both have great fighting games, both have great platformers.Where do you live?
If you are in the U.S. you can get most of the best for each system. If you live in the U.K. you miss out some great SNES games but you get some great Sega games in return. Both systems have cheap games, but both have their share of expensive collector's items.Best way to go,watch a lot of videos on Youtube and buy the system that plays the games that look best to you.
Also, I like your thread title. Subtle and it doesn't seem to be attracting any flame-warrriors. Good luck!
