Want to know how to save the vita is for square enix to release final fantasy anthology 2 that includes a hd remasters of VII games and remake VII, VIII, and IX. Also add in a final fantasy limited edition vita with the bundle and will put the vita back on its feet. *sign* c'mon square enix!

I'm not even sure if Final Fantasy has that much pulling power anymore. People aren't exactly going to jump onto a fading handheld just to play yet another port of Final Fantasy 7, no matter how popular that game was in the 90s.

Save a platform by making hd remakes and ports? Yeah, that will totally work.

What shitty emulation? Are there particular games you're talking about? Every one I've bought so far works great.

OT, love my Vita (yea, mostly as a PS1/2 retro machine but so what). And this shit's hitting soon, can't wait:

the vita is in trouble because so many people can just hook up controllers to their phones and tablets. thats what i think at least. why else is the vita failing? Im curious. I'm also interested to see what the vita can do to survive because i love hand held games and most phones alone, dont deliver enough good gaming content.

@marduke1913: If that was true, the 3DS would be struggling as well.

I think the Vita's problems are more to do with its library. Sony doesn't have any standout handheld franchises, and the most appealing games on the system tend to be niche-audience JRPGs.

There is no saving the Vita. It's over, man. 8 million units sold compared to what? 50 million 3ds's? It's over.

@MirkoS77: "What shitty emulation"?

This shitty emulation! i'm pretty sure other graphically demanding PS2 games like this would also have the same issues.. unlike PSP which can run every ps1 games flawlessly,you can even make eboots of your PS1 DVD's to play them on you PSP how cool is that?

But for Vita you have to wait for Sony to release some half-assed "Port" on PSN,i have a large library of PS2 games and i don't think i'll be able to plug&play like i can play ps1 games on my psp.

@cuhcoast: I was really considering buying a Vita but there just aren't any games. Not to mention that new gaming tablet that just came out I would assume blows away the Vita graphically. Vita came out in time but started off way too slow. Now there is just way too much competition for similar pricing. They could try it again and release something more powerful.

Vita is beyond saving at this point. It's sales are awful, developers are abandoning it, Sony still has yet to take any effort at all and even outright said its a PS4 companion device now over a gaming portable.

Kinda the final nail when it's own company says its up to third parties to carry it.

If they were to support PS2 emulation, I would give my Vita a lot more attention! Oh, and trophy support too!

@Planeforger: I agree with you, I think its the library also. The lack of WRPGs is a big one for me, also they should really release the full PS2/PS1 library, I think that will bring up sale. Mega man legends PS vita bundle, or something innovative alone could help sales, I'm really starting to believe they are just lazy,or the people that market, and come up with ideas, are not gamers at all. Listen, and speak with the people (true fans) I bet they could turn it around.
