I've only bought one, the Homeworld soundtrack. Although that was only because it came with thegame of the yearedition (the only one the store I got the game at had for some reason), but the music is great, I thought the track Adagio for Strings was especially moving in fact and listening to that track during the mission its for is enough to make you all sad inside. But I digress, post yor thoughts/purchases.

The only soundtrack I ever purchased was the GTA: Vice City's V-ROCK soundtrack. I really like 80's rock, so it was just perfect for me. I also have the soundtrack to Phantasy Star Universe, Atelier Iris 2, DDR Supernova, and DDR Universe, but they were just free promos from work.

Yup, I've bought soundtracks for FF Tactics, FFVIII, FFVI, FFIX, Xenogears, Xenosaga Episode 1, Chrono Trigger, and Final Fantasy: Advent Children. I also have some soundtracks that came with Lunar, Lunar 2, FFV & FFVI, and Suikoden Tactics. Oh yeah, I almost forgot about the 20th anniversary collection that came with Castlevania: Portrait Of Ruin.

I have bought three soundtracks for games, funnily enough for RPG ones.

The first I ever bought was the soundtrack for Beyond Divinity, which is a fantasy RPG for the PC and it has some great numbers on it - its a rare edition as well and was hand signed which is an added bonus but I really got it for the tracks.

The second one I bought was for Final Fantasy VIII - dont ask me why as this is more of a hit and miss thing, but I remember that I enjoyed the music at the time.

The latest track that I have bought is one for Uru: Ages Beyond Myst, which features some nice Africanish inspired music.

Generally you might say that I bought these because they are all atmospheric instead of being game / catchy tune soundtracks - as I like these alot more than just gameplay tracks.

No, because none of the game soundtracks I would be interested in have been released. I've downloaded Touhou's soundtrack, though, which is unlicensed anyway.

I own Final Fantasy 7, 8, 9 and X-2 soundtracks.

Wish I could get a PLAY! - Video Game Music Symphony recording, too bad the local stop in Hartford Connecticut never sold enough to put the show on, I was anticipating that like Christmas morning... which never came.

Sure. Several of Square's productions, Lunar: SSSC (came with the game, though), and Vice City. I also just got GAME, which is excellent.

Back in the day I had a bunch. Best ones were Castlevania: SOTN, Final Fantasy IV: Celtic Moon (celtic final fantasy music, talk about a score), Chrono Trigger, Ocarina of Time, and a few others. The weirdest was Chrono Trigger: End of Time, an eclectic compilation of jazz and techno remixed CT songs.

No, but if I were to buy the soundtrack to games, I would probably buy Vice City's, Metal Gear Solid 3's, and perhaps God of War's.

Oh, that reminds me, I also bought the Vice City soundtrack, an essential collection of 80s masterpieces.

Stubbs the Zombie too, that one had an awesome soundtrack even if most of the music wasn't actually in the game...

I've bought the full soundtracks of all three of the console GTAs, but I'm generally not a game soundtrack type of guy. Lots of games have really great soundtracks, but Iusually enjoy the music when I playing the game but don't miss it otherwise. I own the soundtrack to FF8 (which has some good stuff) because Square shipped me a free copy after I won a monthly drawing (it pays to register one's games). I did once look into buying the Chrono Cross soundtrack, but the asking price on Amazon was more than I was willing to pay, so I skipped it.

I bought the soundtrack from the Neverworld games because of my love of the songs on Skull Monkeys. I'd very much like some of the piano stuff from the FF games too.

You used to be able to put you PC CDs in a regular CD player and have the soundtracks direct. Thems were the days...

I've just acquired the Silent Hill soundtracks. Obviously they're more poignant if you have played the games and felt the highs and lows of the story when hearing the music, but still quality stuff if you haven't though.

Oh and the FFVII soundtrack too, a classic!

Yeah, I recently discovered a videogame store near me that sells a lot of game soundtracks. I've just been picking up the soundtracks for games that I like, so far I've got various for Final Fantasy, Ocarina of Time, Metal Gear Solid series, Halo, Shenmue and a couple of others.

I think I'm just gonna end up buying them all eventually:oops:

I can't remember the last time I bought an album of any sort. But if I ever come across the GTA: Vice City soundtrack I will purchase it.
