Hypothetical situation: Price is not an obstacle, no matter what you need to buy.

You know the next 2 years of games.   Or roughly know the line-up.

So given only one of the next gen systems.......which do you choose?  And why?

The 360.  Not only have most of the games on the PS3 that made me at one point want to pick one up have now been announced for the 360, I also hold preference for their exclusives(Mass Effect, Halo).  I would miss out on MGS4, but that's a small price to pay for being able to play the many AAA titles to come.

But since I already own one, I'll just spend all the money on beer instead.

The answer is 42... as always.

Anyways, with my taste in games I'll go for 360.

Ownage PC count as a console? If it does, that, but if it has to be a console, probably a 360.

Given no price constraints I'd like a Lamborghini, a multi-million dollar mansion, my own private jet, an island named after me, a bevy of naked supermodel-come-working girls, an army to destroy things and a new home cinema projector.

Unfortunately the world doesn't work that way so I'll just keep playing Oblivion and Animal crossing.

If PC is included...then without a doubt PC.

However...if we are just talking about Consoles....

It's a tie between Wii and PS3.....cause in the next two years those two systems will have the most exclusive games from first and second party developers that are gauranteed to stay exclusive and never go to another gaming platform such as PC or 360.

PS3 will have God of War 3, Team Ico Project, Uncharted, and White Knight Story over the next two years....as well as other exclusives.

Wii will have franchises like Zelda, Mario, Metroid Prime, Pikmin, etc.

I would go with the 360. Even though I would miss out on a good deal of great games on both the Wii and PS3 I prefer the overall lineup of games on the 360. Also with games selling quite well on that system I'm confident that there will be a good portion of third party developers going multi-platform with their games.

waaaaaiiiit. if we have unlimited money... what's stopping us from buying all the systems? does this unending cash flow have stipulations like Brewster's Millions?

360, definitely. As long as money weren't an obstacle, I could replace unit after unit. :P

Right now the 360's catalog of games is much greater than either the PS3 or Wii.  There are games on all three consoles I want to play, but if your game only allows me to pick one, then the 360 wins in a landslide.
