If you happen to find a cart that will work long enough to beat the game, its about the most magical 1 hour you will spend with 1 other person and still have your clothes on.
SNES- Contra 3 , Street fighter 2, Teenage mutant ninja turtles 4 in time, knights of the round, Zombies ate my neigbors, wild guns, final fight series, the Battletoad games.
NES Games: Contra The best run-n-gun game on the NES. Grab a buddy and mow down hordes of enemies and automated defenses with various guns like the almighty Spreadfire Gun. Double Dragon The original beat-em up game, and still one of the best. Difficult, but rewarding and fun. And the Game B option is one of the early attempts at a one-on-one fighting game. R.C. Pro-Am A great little racing game where two-players can play on the same track at the same time, and you can acquire little power-ups from time to time to use on your opponent, kinda like Super Mario Kart but not as wacky and long before it. Super Mario Bros. 3 The best platformer ever made on the NES. You can take turns on the superb levels with a friend, or you can play each other on battle stages that are esentially stages from the Original Mario Bros. game originally released on the Colecovision. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game You and a friend can beat down hordes of Foot Soldiers, Bebop & Rocksteady, Shredder, and Krang through multiple levels of beat-em up action. SNES Games: Final Fight Series The best beat-em up games on the SNES. It's a very polished game that's very fun to play, especially two-player. Made by Capcom. Lethal Enforcers A fun first-person view light-gun game where you play as cops taking down bank robbers, drug dealers, what have you. It uses the FMV overlay graphics that Mortal Kombat games use, making it more realistic than most other light gun games of the era. Super Mario World Okay, so your essentially taking turns, it's not true multiplayer, but who cares, it's one of the greatest games ever created in the history of gaming. 2D platforming perfection. Mortal Kombat Series If you like a bit of violence and over-the-top characters in your fighting games, than this is perfect for beating the heck out of a good friend. Raiden Trad The best 2D shooter on the SNES. Great graphics, tons of enemies, great power-ups, and challenging bosses make for chaotic shooting bliss. And when your enemies explode in this game, it's very satisfying. Super Mario Kart A game that marries the fun and great characters of Nintendo with a racing game and ends-up being a ton fun. I know many people that don't play video games, but love to play this one with friends, it's that good. Super Street Fighter II The best 2D fighting game made on the SNES, IMO. Smooth controls, great graphics and sound, and great characters make an incredible fighting game experience. -Nate-
Super Bomberman for the SNES is one of the greatest multiplayer games ever made in my opinion. We used to play this game for hours and hours at a time and never get bored. Good lucking finding the multitap adapter though.
there was that volleyball game for the nes. i couldn't get the timing down back then. Play action football is great. Even 4 players. I didn't know anyone who actually had an adapter though..for the NES, yeah right.
