To be honest, I'd really want them to just focus on making a brand FF, and I wish Square would just keep focused instead of trying to juggle all these spin-off and side projects from their main games like Kingdom Hearts 3 and FFXIII.JustPlainLucas
I agree, if they want to remake and do side projects to all of their games fine but don't let it effect the main projects. I am just hoping I see Kingdom Hearts 3 before 2010.
They should do it. People would buy it.
But would I buy it? Uh, no.
I'd rather see something new from Square Enix.
Remake FFVII for the PSP, like what happened with III and what is happening with IV for the DS. Let the next-gen consoles be the home for new games.MAILER_DAEMON
I think they will, in time. They've already remade FF 1-6 on the Playstation and PSP/DS. With the money they could make(they know this) there is no doubt they will probably do it in the future, just maybe not for the PS3 like everybody thinks.(though they probably will)Mittsman890No no, IV, V, and VI were ports on the PS1, I and II for the PS1 were ports of the WonderSwan Color remakes, and I, II, IV, V, and VI on the GBA were ports of either the SNES or WSC.
The remakes now are I and II for the PSP and III/IV for the DS. Port and remake mean very different things.

Totaly agree. Ive played FFVII and dont really need it again. All I really want now, is for Square to make a game that tops Final Fantasy 7
I see very little value in remaking any game this long after it's original release. it's not likely to make anyone happy.
Also, there are enough good ideas out there that we don't need to go around reviving games, just let them rest as they are.

I've always been against it. Sure you'd get better graphics, but you're still gonna experience the same story many people who desperately want it have probably practically memorized already, and in the long run, that fact is what will ultimately stand out and as a result, it won't have the same impact on you as if you were playing the game for the first time, IMO. It'd just be the same characters acting out the same story in prettier clothes. And given the amount of time and resources Square Enix would have to put into it, resources that could otherwise go into fresh, original content, it'd ultimately just be a waste of time, IMO. If I want to play Final Fantasy VII, those 3 discs are sitting right inside one of my personal storage bins at home for anytime I wanna fire 'em back up. The only real difference would be that version's graphics are not as advanced. However, the substance of the game that actually matters (the storyline, character development and gameplay) will always be there. And thats all you really need.

Ive played all the final fantasy games since 7 and the mechanics and storyline ofFF7 were the best.I find it really hard to top FF7. And I know some of you will disagree, thats fine. It is just my opinion.
Whats funny is I don't even know why I feel the wayI do about FF7, becauseI was never really a final fantasy fan in the beginning. I was,I guess you could say, "sheltered as a child", from video gamesI mean. My first system was N64, then years laterI got a ps2 with FFX and another game thatI dont remember because X was the first FF game to consume a part of my life. I used to talk up X so much and my friend was like, "Dude, If you think X was good play the old ones." I asked him why I would want to play "Obselete" games. He told me straight up "WOW, dude. What the **** is wrong with you?". And thats when I decided to play the older final fantasy games.
Anyway, FF7 just did it for me more than any other rpg. I wish I knew why.

You are right. I believe Substance has everything moreto do with a game than it being more aesthetically pleasing. Sometimes I think the companies who make the games nowadays seem to forget that. Alls Im sayin is, I would buy it if they did remake it.Some of the other guys are sayin they could mess it up, and that could happen. But Im not gonna send in emails to Square Enix demanding or even requesting a remake. This is just my little fantasy. And in my fantasy, they remake the game no different in anyway except to enhance the visuals, keeping inmind, I do agree with you 100% that substance of the game is everything.
Now don't get your panties in a bunch and get on my case. I just want multiple opinions. I've heard they weren't remaking, that it was just showing off PS3 performance, but why the hell would they tease us. Does anyone have any clue what their plans are, if there are any for Final Fantasy 7 for PS3? My heart wants to say yes. Remember this is just my opininon, they released Advent Children in hopes of hyping up a future release, then of course dirge of ceberus (which was a mediocre game at best), and then showing the FF7 for PS3 technical demo. I just dont see why they would play with my emotions like that. It's probably just my wishful thinking.XRatherBeDeadX
Well I've got news for them...if they want to make any money off the PS3, they will remake FF7 for the PS3. Hell, it would probably make me buy one.
I find it funny that Square Enix has made every FF7 spin-off under the sun except the one that everyone wants the most.King9999
I don't care what they try and say, I know they're working on it.

They have plenty of people, i think they should make the good ones better, anyways, final fantasy is dead to me now.
!0-12 were pretty krap.
PEACE!!!
