Any genre whether leveling up in RPGs and choosing stat upgrades/skills, or choosing parts for cars and mechs, and more. I'm signing off so I'll post my list tomorrow.

Well it's not that the particular feature makes it one of my favourites, but in Digital Devil Saga you assign points to your stats as you level up. Fallout and Fallout 2 also.

I have a love-hate relationship with "Armored Core" games, for that very reason... I could sit and paint the mech, change it's armaments, and generally just treat the game like it's "My Pretty Pony" for robot geeks!

I have most of the games in the series.

:D

First game that immediately comes to mind for me is "Vagrant Story":

- tones of different weapon/armor combinations to be created at the smithery
- tones of risk-breaker arts and chain combinations for both offensive and defensive manuevers
- tones of spells that were not only offensive and defensive, but changed your elemental proficiencies
- randomized attribute bonuses after key areas or boss fights
- each weapon/armor had multiple attributes to blunt/piercing/edged
- each weapon/armor had multiple attributes against different enemy types dragon/undead/human/beast etc
- weapons and armors could also be combined with countless gems granting various bonuses

Second game that comes to mind is "Morrowind":

- pick between different races, each with certain perks/advantages
- customization of face, clothing, etc.
- picked and trained your specialty skills
- could make your own spells
- could enchant tones of various perks onto your equiptment

I was the same way with that game during the psx era. I'm gonna throw Gran Turismo in there as well, even if it borderline doesnt count. Future Cop as well... ...I also liked Biker Mice from Mars on the snes. ...Shenmue, of course. In fact I really think many people missed out on this facet of the game. Doing more side quests resulted in making your character more badss through scrolls.

Have you ever played the Front Mission or Mech Warrior games?[QUOTE="Dudersaper"]Well it's not that the particular feature makes it one of my favourites, but in Digital Devil Saga you assign points to your stats as you level up. Fallout and Fallout 2 also.

I like the skill system in Digital Devil Saga also, similar to Final Fantasy X but I liked how it was done in DDS better. The original Fallout games are excellent.

Awesome game, I'm probably going to replay that one soon. It's been a long time since I played it.
