They're just taking the necessary and logical steps to owning Take Two and R*'s GTA franchise, it's only a matter of time unless another large publisher outbids them, which I doubt will happen, no platform holder would dare piss off EA on an acquisition, and few third-party publishers would have the kind of financial strength to afford such an acquisition.

Go look at the take over announcement in the news of Gamespot. There was an update saying that they may have another bidder to consider.

That's the problem you fool! We dont' want a new EA GTA every year! It'll ruin the series! GTA will stop leading the industry with innovatiaonl gameplay and all that good stuff! :(

Agreed. I mean, look at the transition between SA and GTA4 and that's with a FOUR year gap between them. If EA starts bringing these games out once every 6 months then we'll be seeing the same crap over and over again for years.

It's the amount of time R* takes with each game that allows them to be the best damn games out there.

Only sports game i like is Fight Night.. And i think you guys are all over-reacting a bit much.. If they pump out GTA lets say once a year dosnt mean its gonna suck.. Plenty of great games are made in a years time.

There's so much bandwagon EA hate here it disgusts me. It disgusts me far more than any company could. It's what big business does, they protect their interests. If you don't like it, I hear China is doing ok with that whole Communism thing. Keep in mind, there's a reason EA is as big as they are and it has nothing to do with the supposed poor drivel you guys all think they release all the time. They are no different than a major Hollywood studio. They release a lot of mainstream, mediocre stuff, a rare god-awful dud, and a few really great games (who released your oh so beloved Rock Bands and, now, Mass Effects?). They use the middle-of-the-road stuff that appeals to Johnny Average to fund their release of the big stuff that you all like. Or have you guys forgotten that you actually like some of their games? If you have such a big problem with them, don't buy the games, grow a pair and stand up for what you believe in.... or is a forum trend not worth you missing out?
