I was gonna say, this has a very DQVII-ish look to it. I'm still upset about the PS1 game not coming out here... the development house closed shop before Enix could get the US version finished. I wonder what V and VI will look like, though? Those look like the PS1 version. I think it's just a simple port to the DS.
Still, it looks good for the DS. Square-Enix is going to make a ton of money with this one.

I got to think that they're just going to reuse the same engine that they're using for DQ IV, If they're planning to crank out all 3 of these games in the next year and a half to 2 years I can't see them developing from the ground up for each one.

I think they're actually using a modified Final Fantasy III engine, though I can't remember where I read that from. It would make sense, because right now that's the best 3D engine that they have running on the DS, and PS1/N64 games don't port exactly over to the DS-- see the graphical differences between the versions of Super Mario 64 for that. Because IV started as a PS1 game, it's probably easier for them to port it via the FFIII engine, rather than the cel-shading based engine that they're using for DQIX.Makes you wonder which one they're going to use for V and VI, though...
