Does anyone know why there aren't any good GI Joe or Transformers games?

I haven't been able to find a good game for any platform.

Are there copyright problems?  I figure with the enourmous possiblities for already defined characters someone would be able to come up with a decent game.

I guess I figured wrong.

Theirs a Transformers game coming out and it looks interesting, maybe they will the formula right this time.

 About GI Joe: their is already a whole genre of gaming towards the goal GI Joe was strafing for, tho, I don't see why kids nowadays want to buy a game thats about this old armyfigure, just like Actionman, I love that guy, but he didn't get games, darn you gaming industry!

Yeah, that's not a Transformers game though

 If it ain't classic, (aka "Generation 1") it's not a Transformers game

I'm going to guess that's the same sentiment when peopel ask for a GIJoe and Transformers games. The vast majority of the public have no idea there is any other.

Actually, there was a decent GI Joe arcade game, slightly similar to Cabal and Mercs. Transformers was a less fortunate license, but the summer blockbuster tie-in looks very nice.

The reason no great Joe or Transformers games exist, is that they are considered products for children, and the videogames tend to reflect that.

The Transformers PS2-Game is really good.I´d give it up to a 8.5.Good Graphics,gameplay,BIG Bosses...what you want more???Ash2X

Oh yeah, that was great, completely forgot about that. Melbourne House did a great job, shame it didn't sell very well.

I had a sweet GI Joe game for my Commodore 64.immortality20
