Does Anybody Miss?

Turn Based Role Playing Games? I'm not too big of a fan of the new verison's that look like MMORPGS.

Loved Fallout 1 and 2 way back when, but now? Unless it's Civilization, turn based games bore me

I love old school Japanese Turn Based RPGs - I almost wish they hadn't been "evolved" out of popularity. Its sad that I have to resort to playing old RPGs re-released on PSN on my PSP. Though to be honest, the PSP is almost THE perfect JRPG machine. There is just something about that handheld that makes playing old Final Fantasy games or Chrono Cross/Trigger games feel natural.

There are still turn based RPGs being released, but they are far and few in between, you just have to know how to find them and where to look (lately it HAS been on the PSP). I know a LOT of folks didn't like Final Fantasy 13 - but I loved it and I'm really anticipating the sequel's release on January 31st.

I love them and still play them regularly. I'm currently playing Valkyrie Profile.

I generally prefer them to action RPGs, but I'm not so sure that I miss them since I'm still playing them.

Not really. I could play them but i don't miss them. 2 gazzillion Random encouters / level grinding? Good riddance.

Playing good old Final Fantasy Tactics. :cool:

I hate turn based games, I want to be in control of my character'always'

I enjoy them, I'm currently playing DQ VIII. But I don't miss them because I haven't really been without them.

A little.. Final Fantasy IX was one of the best rpg's I ever played, so I guess afterwards I always liked turn-based combat on a rpg.

Final Fantasy 8 is my favorite turn based RPG, i wish they would do an HD remake of it.

FF IX is one of my favourite ever games. I guess the last great turn based RPG i played was KOTOR. The combat in that was semi-turn based.

Only one I ever cared for was Final Fantasy X. I don't know if you can count KOTOR as one, but if so, that one too.

I like Final Fantay, but they're too easy.

Yes. I do miss and still love turn based gameplay.

Yeah I do miss the oldschool turn based RPGs althought square enix still makes some.
