Neither. I go to GameRankings so I can get a better idea of what the overall opinion of a game is.

I tend to read GS more, but always got to Metacritic and look at many if I'm going to buy a game.

I look at the scores from a lot of different places. Gamerankings is good for that.

Usually I'll go to Metacritic or Game Rankings. I read IGN and GS reviews but don't pay too much attention to them.

I use Gamespot first, then I check out IGN. I then watch Good Game and Xplay, then I go to Gamesradar, then Gametrailers and lastly Gameplayer. That way I get to read all the opinions, I could just visit metacritics or gamerankings but I like to read/watch the whole review.

Gamespot mostly. But I usually form my own opinion of the game via gameplay video's and my own research when it comes to buying a game.

I generally don't use ratings, most of the time i can tell what i am going to like or not like. If a game that i wasn't really interested gets good reviews(Deadspace) i make it a priority to gamefly

Generally I'll read the IGN review. If nothing else they usually give a pretty detailed review of most games they cover, and they do a good job of highlighting the positive aspects of it (sometimes a little too much). Plus it's much easier to nagivate through that GS these days. But if I feel the need to look at a score I hit Metacritic.

I try to read from a number of sites, but between the 2 I trust ign for a better overall review. GS is catching up though. They've had some pretty good reviews lately.

Both. I don't care much for scores, but the review itself offers insight as to what the game is like. Then I rent the game and decide what score it deserves. Simple and efficient :)

If I would have to choose between the 2 I would probably say IGN. Generally tho I try to look at plenty of ratings to get an -idea-. I'll read reviews from GS members too. But for the most part I just read what the story is about and do demos. If it's what I like, I'll form my own opinions tyvm ^^

This + metacritic. Then I focus on looking at some high reviews and low reviews and some in the middle.

I dont use any. Friends and the media ususally lets me know what games are must-play, and I buy those games used a year or so later. I just finished Call of Duty 4 and Halo 3 a few weeks ago.

IGN has always given the best reviews in my opinion. And im pretty sure they generally give lower scores, at least for some of the very high ranking games out there. They rarely give 10's unlike other sites/magazines where 10's dont mean very much. I dont like the style of the forums though, which is why im here. Regardless I never really buy a game unless ive played it, except for some rare cases.

I go to both to see the differing opinions.

IGN is rather easy on games, while GSpot is a little hard on titles.

Primarily though, I'll go here to see what a game that I wanted got and if it got a bad score, I'll go over to IGN to see what they gave the game.

GS is only hard on Wii games, they are extremely leniant on 360 and ps3 games, which is why i dont use this site for reviews anymore, i find them extremely biased.

I make sure I buy really good games, since I really don't like wasting loads of money over games I'm not sure good......

The first game I bought was War Craft 3 and I loved it.But the second,The Legacy of Kain:defiance and the third, Shade:Wrath of Angels, really wasted my time and money.

So when I finally found out about GS' and IGN's reviews, I kept using these to better assure I'm not wasting my time and get the best gaming experience as I did with BioShock, The Elder Scrolls 4:Oblivion, Crysis and Call of Duty 4 in some internet cafe, all ratings were 9.

Here's my personal and effective procedure for choosing games:

First, look at rating in Gamespot, IGN etc. Has to be atleast 8/10(make sure Genre suits you)

Second, read Gamespot's, IGN's, Game Revolution's useful reviews.

Third, look at average in Gamerankings, has to be atleast 79%(found out that most 80% games are read as 79% when using Gamerankings search engine). Look at average of player reviews at GS, has to be atleast 8/10.

Fourth, add to wishlist and prepare money

Fifth, BUY WITH NO REGRET AND HAVE FUN!!!

I read lots of reviews from lots of different sources. That way I get a more even view of what the game is like.
