The only solid reports regarding the location and era of Call of Duty 6 say it will be based in space. Would you consider buying Call of Duty 6 if it is really based in space.

Link? I've never heard this.

EDIT: Here's a Joystiq post on the matter. I think it's more likely to be a new IP.

I totally agree, I mean seriously the Call of Duty series is based on wars.....and totally if you stuck it in space, that would just totally ruin the series.

Thats the stupidest thing ive heard in a long time, and would be a huge disaster. Then again id be surprised if the series managed to live up to number 4 to begin with.

It's not that we're afraid of change. CoD4 was a change, and we welcomed it with open arms. It's that Call of Duty is a series based on realism and history. But if it goes into space, all that goes out the window. Better leave sci-fi to Halo.

Yeah, why run away from the present after one game? CoD4 is really the only AAA FPS with a realistic modern war setting, as far as I can remember.

Thankfully, they aren't going to do this. It's going to be some new IP and it'll probably be really good. Just not a CoD game.

Well considering that "CoD6" is going to be made by Infinity Ward, I think its entirely possible for it to live up to 4.

i heard that rumour, i hope not. i couldn't take it seriously.

im hoping for a historical game, not modern day, future, or ww2. ww1 springs to mind, im sure you could get some dam decent gameplay out of it, unlike some people seem to say.

Nay! I think a medieval sword and sorcery Call of Duty would be badass. Have fullscale wars such as castle sieges and all that. :P

It may go futuristic, but I doubt it'll be set in space.

1. Call of Duty is realistic-like.

2. There's never been a real war in space.

3. This game has been made 1 thousand times over. CoD 6 should be Pre-WW2 or any war inbetween WW2 and Iraq.

*sigh*

First it goes from a quality WWII shooter series to a yearly rehashed mainstream shooter series in no less than two iterations.

Call of Duty in space would be sweet. I love space. Here's hoping that wherever it is set, they stop using scripted enemy spawn points and also open up the game a bit to be a LITTLE less linear.
