I suggest Halopedia but in as few sentences as possible (too lazy to write): Halo Reach: Sqaud of spartan's who try to defend Reach from meeting it's doom. Must deliver package to someone in time or all hope fails Halo 1: Master Chief kills covenant, goes to Halo and thwarts the firing of it. Halo 2: They discover there's more Halos and that another one is being built and must stop it AND stop Covenant from finding Earth... Halo 3: They failed. Covies found Earth and are looking for the Ark to remote fire Halos. They find another installation and lead all flood and covies there with MC to detonate Halo in short range to finish fight
Yeah...nothing bad against Halo or anything, but the plotlines certainly weren't all that original.
A series that is overrated and overhyped way too much. To this day, I still can't see how it revolutionized or made the FPS genre better. It's just another FPS series to me.

Couldn't agree more. Halo: CE definitely created an intriguing world, but they didn't manage to do a good job filling it in going forward.
The first game did a pretty good job of evolving FPS when it was released, nothing really revolutionary really,but from Halo 2 onwards the only place it stepped things up with was with it's multiplayer offerings when they incorporated Xbox Live.

Humans colonize space, then one day they make contact with aliens who send a message saying 'your destruction is the will of the gods.' So it turns out the aliens are mega-religious. Battles commence on various planets, and eventually the covenant find the planet Reach which is the second biggest human colony outside of Earth. A big battle takes place to try and save the planet involving Spartans, which are children kidnapped at the age of 6 and raised to be soldiers before being given genetic augmentations to make them 8 feet tall, super-fast and super strong before being given a very advanced suit of armor. There are two types of Spartan. One is like Master Chief and Jorge from Reach. They are crazy tall and ridiculously good at killing things. Then there are Spartan 3s, which are a cheaper version of the Spartans made by the army when they found out about the spartan project and decided to make their own, only cutting some corners. They aren't quite as amazing as Master Chief, but they still have the sweet armor. Most of the spartans die in the battle to save Reach, and though the books hint at survivors, the game generally considers Master Chief to be the last one after Reach. When Reach falls, Master Chief is on board a ship with a super advanced AI called Cortana who has just made it onto the ship after discovering some vital data on Reach gathered from an old crashed alien relic buried deep below the planet's surface. The data leads them to Halo, a massive artificial planet shaped like a ring. The Halo was built by the forerunners, an old alien civilisation long dead which the covenant worship as gods. Its design is to keep captive a virus called the flood, which overwhelms any sentient life and spreads like crazy. If it ever manages to spread, the Halo ring has a last ditch defense which is to kill all life in the galaxy, so the flood has nothing to infect and dies out. The covenant on the other hand think the Halo rings are monuments which will start a 'great journey', kinda the same as sending them to heaven. So in Halo 1 and 2 you fight as Master Chief to stop the Prophets, their leaders, from activating the rings and do so by blowing them up usually. Finally you discover one place which is safe from the Halo weapons called the ark, which is a massive structure on the very edge of space where the Halo rings are made. The covenant find this by flying through a portal they activate on earth, buried deep below the sands of Africa. The entire covenant armada heads to the arc, and you follow them in toe. You blow up the ark by detonating a Halo ring it is producing to replace the ones you blew up. Because the ring is not finished, it collapses in on itself and takes the arc down with it along with the entire covenant armada. Thus the war is essentially over as the covenant are incapable of continuing their fight. While all that goes on, from Halo 2 onwards a civil war breaks out within the covenant as the Elites (the highest race) are replaced by the Brutes. The elites, under the leadership of the Arbiter, start to question their religion and are convinced eventually that they have been lied to when they learn of what the Halo rings REALLY do. So they start helping the humans, which also brings about the downfall of the covenant. ODST doesn't really feature anything about the larger story, and is more a small tale about a small band of marines struggle to survive as the covenant invade earth.
alright ill explain in detail. In halo reach you, a deadly lone wolf with a life with much secrets, join a squad of spartans (NOBLE Team) discover that the covenant are on reach they put on a massive fight and just when they seem like they've won, everything turns to hell. soon most of NOBLE die of and you (Noble six) are tasked with delivering cortana (an AI who is very smart and ultimately helps end the war) to captain keyes who escapes reach to the Delta Halo in the Pillar of Autum and all of NOBLE dies except noble 3. Halo CE starts. The Pillar of Autumn approaches halo and the covenant show up and attack. a Spartan called John-117 or more commonly 'Master Chief' awakes from cryostasis as one of the few surviving spartans. he joins the fight in the pillar of autumn and gets cortana 9 he plugs her into his helmet) and the pillar of autumn takes heaps of damage and keyes attempts to land it so he can find out about halo which is a supposed super-weapon(The Pillar of Autumn has another purpose). Meanwhile, the Chief escapes in a escape ship (lifeboat) and lands on halo.The Chief then goes around and joins up with soldiers who survived and a sterotypical dark-skinned guy. The Chief and cortana discover the location of halo's control room and free keyes as he is captured by a large covenant ship. John and cortana soon discover a zombie-like parasite called the flood and find out halo is a weapon designed to kill the flood by killing off its food (all organic life within thousands of miles). the covenant think halo turns them into god and try to activate it (only humans can). Chief then goes on to find that keyes is dead and rips a chip out of his brain (eugh!) they then use to blow up the pillar of autumn and destroy halo so they can avoid twice as much damage. the Chief and cortana find there is one spaceship left in the hangar and fly away. Cortana hints a sequel, The covenant find earth and Halo 2 Starts. John gets awarded along with the dark-skinned guy (Johnson) and the ship gets attacked by covenant (deja vu?) master chief then heads to earth and defends against the covenant and a covenant leader makes a portal and flys away over the city which makes a massive shockwave and the chief follows. they find a new halo (deja vu?) and they blow it up and kill a covenant leader while an alien dude (arbiter) also helps the chief and the elites become friends the humans. ODST Starts after portal opens. In the meantime an ODST squad gets split up and helps defend earth and saves an important AI which an alien merged with. Halo 3 Starts. In halo 3 master chief defends earth again and the covenant dig up a portal under africa. The flood also comes to Earth. Master Chief follows the covenant through the portal (deja vu?) and then they fight more aliens and kill the last of the covenant leaders with the arbiter. The Chief blows up halo and then he escapes with the arbiter through the still open portal while only half the ship makes it through the closing portal and the back half with only the chief doesnt and he is seen drifting towards an unknown planet while he goes into cryostasis again. Cortana files a report about the forerunners and the covenant war while showing signs that she will die a few years later. There you go! hope it helps!
