Can anyone tell me about this game i played as a child?

I don't know why but i remembered this game i played as child and i want to know what game it is. I played it on an Arcade, all i remember was that the theme was like ancient forest , and you play as a small elf .. Anyone got any ideas?

It was a side scroller, not sure if it was a platformer or not.

I think a little more info is required , could you collect things and what , did you use any weapons ??

*edit* my bad didn't notice you mentioned you played it in an arcade, pretty sure this was never in an arcade.

Maybe you are thinking about Hugo. There was an amiga version of the game and a more notorious version on DOS, but the game became really popular about 15 years ago after being available in arcades (including some tv shows).

Is it Legend of Makai? It was one someone on the internet pointed out to me as a game I played as a kid and it's similar to yours. I didn't remember the name either.
